not sure about easiest, but can't complain one bit. Cheslea are more than good enough to take porto. Having porto in the QF and reavl v cheslea fighting for the chance to play us would be easier

 

I would still expect Madrid to beat us in our current state, but we've got a chance I hope

we owe real big time as well. theres plent of players with a losers medal and salah who lost a wolrd cup over ramos. I hope we are really really on it for those games.

3 from one country, 2 from another, but none get drawn against each other (I'm a poet).
Lucky that. Not a bad draw for us.

 

How can anyone complain about avoiding the top 3 teams in the comp in QF and SF? We are the strongest team on our side to the Final. I see Chelsea as a tough opponent but they are in a different league to the other 3.

 

the permutations at 2 or 3 english clubs out of 8 get drawn together

in 8c2 = 28 posssble draws and we would be looking for 3 possible combinations out of it.

LFC v chelsea
LFC v city
City v cheslea

3 out of 28 means an all english draw was unlikely.

I merely commented that it wasn't the easiest possible draw. If we got porto in the QF and let cheslea and real fight it out to play us then that'd be slightly easier

 

Madrid are a shadow of their great teams. I don’t foresee massive problems.

Just had a text from a colleague in Madrid. He said that they have real problems too and is actually not that optimistic - he clearly isn’t seen us this season. We got drawn in, by far, the easiest half of the draw. City have it all to do if they want to win it.

 

i accept i may have over egged the point a tad but blind optimism is as daft as blind pessimism .

 

Happy enough with the draw. Getting to the final is at least doable with that draw, though we'll have to play better than we have been.
