Saw earlier he was favourite for the Preston job. Now it seems to have calmed down a bit, he’s just on the bookies lists. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/grant-mccann-hull-city-preston-5211408
Honestly can’t see it myself, but what a wheeze it’d be if he left us, we got compensation and he had the same impact with them, he had with us in the championship .
Losing him now would be a potential disaster and something nobody should want, if it's an end of season thing then it could suit all parties
Agreed. As much as I can't stand him and want him out, a disruption to management at this point in the season would be more detrimental than positive. If Preston still want him in the summer, they can have him for me.
Is GM on a 12 month rolling? Think because of current financial challenges in football, a club like PNE ain't going to want to shell out compo for a manager.....
The article states he has 12 months left on his contract ..... which he will have as it's a rolling 12 month contract! Hopefully that puts to bed the debate. As if a '12 month rolling contract' starts afresh every year as some said!! Derr. The clue is in the name. He can go whenever he likes for me. He isn't the right manager for us and never will be.
The 12 Month Rolling Contract This is a contract that is often mentioned in relation to managers and coaches of football clubs and is favoured because it allows a person to be employed for one season during which the fortunes of the club may change; promotion or demotion may, in the club’s eyes be tackled better with a new person in charge, for instance. The 12 Month Fixed-term Contract is well understood by most people to be one that ends automatically when the season ends but many are confused when the word “Rolling” is included. Many users of social media have said that they interpret a 12 Month Rolling Contract to be a standard Indefinite-term contract as defined in the first section above and the notice period for either party is 12 months, rather than a more normal 30 days. However, this is not the case: a 12 Month Rolling Contract is a 12 Month Fixed-term Contract, as defined in the second section above, that includes clauses under which each party can ask the other to renew it, or “roll it over”; either party can decide not to renew and there is no obligation on either side to pay compensation in such a case. Thus, a typical Fixed-term Rolling Contract will normally include a date at which both parties should indicate whether they wish the contract to roll over at the termination date; this will often be set some months earlier than termination rather than being something like 30 days and allows each party sufficient time to find alternative employment or employees.
Go on then... explain how losimg him at this time of the season with us top of the league with 9 games to go, wouldn't be a disaster?
Relatively new manager with no silverware on his CV passes over auto promo chance to manage ailing minnow in league above? GTF
Salford Manager gone and Nicky Butt resigns his Man U coach role. Butt to Hull, McCann to Salford? You heard it here first.
I would personally drive him to which ever club wants him.I will never forgive him for last seasons debacle.
Nope, didn't miss it as that would suggesting I was actually interested in who was managing Salford, rather than just making an attempted humorous comment.
Come on. Look at the definition of the word 'disaster' If you want to compare a disaster half way through last season with this then last season describes it the best.
He was very lucky to have kept his job after the **** of last season. However he got rid of the dross, found a winning formula and is on the verge of righting the wrong. Deal with it.
