Yes, I see your point -- this is a big difference. But after the match against MK Dons... https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...is-sunderland-players-mk-dons-verdict-3126643
Again totally different, Johnson said the officials were bad for both teams ... ... Appleton was saying they were biased to Sunderland. Or do you agree that Wyke attacked their defender?
Charlie is truly class. He has perservered w/o the support of our fans and continues to thrive despite a seemingly impossible number of bad calls against him.
In many respects I agree, but not sure about your first statement, he is far to limited , his contribution is little more than one touch, that touch can win a game, but often he plays 90 minutes constantly loosing the ball and giving away free kicks, hence the criticism. The lack of nous and skill remains and that is a handicap that we can't afford, if we go up I expect Charlie, lovable as he is, will move on. Its all about opinion and I'm often wrong.
IMO there’s never a reason for abuse. He gets kicked all over and pulled and pushed yet gets penalised fir nothing! He gave away a free kick at the weekend fir winning the ball cleanly twice! The first one the opposition manager accused him of smashing their player in the face! The second cost us a massive chance of winning the game. Neither if the fouls were ever fouls, let alone even 10% of what had been done to him!
I meant to use the word criticism but abuse slipped in, sorry but I do find your objection to be rather pedantic and missing the point.
