If we beat someone 7-0 certain people would say one game doesn't make a season, we where lucky, the opposition where poor etc etc etc... But someone else does it and suddenly they are going to beat us to the title, any neutral fan would back then over us etc etc
Disappointing - should have been a comfortable win but nearly came away with nothing. Annoying that Peterborough have made such a big hole in the goal difference as well.
Id say more logical, especially if it was my own team. But hey ho... The negative posters haven't had anything to moan about recently, so I suppose they need a straw to cling on to
Well that was an entertaining if not extremely frustrating game. Absolute ****house of a team that kicked and hoofed their way through the entire 90 minutes, clearly moulded in the shape of their manager. That said our finishing was poor and you can't expect to win games if you don't bury those chances.
FTFY. And no I wouldn’t. We beat Wigan 0-5 and thoroughly deserved to. I’ve said pretty much all season that we aren’t consistent enough to go up automatically. I stand by that statement.
I thought Gillingham played pretty well, we were so-so. Eaves had a barnstorming first half. Anonymous after. The Greaves miss was criminal. Should have won it, but can’t complain given they hit the woodwork twice.
We're 1 point ahead of a team your touting as Champions? They're hardly a model of consistency either then?
I don't mind objectivity. When are you going to show some instead of doom and gloom negativity? How much would you bet that Peterborough will finish above us then? Money talks bullshit walks...
I thought we had played Gillingham when Peter Taylor was City boss in the mid noughties .It's called dizzy brunette syndrome .
Yes, they are nailed on to beat, Sunderland aren't they? 6 teams were going to overtake us when they won their games in hand according to some not long ago. Games in hand were better than points on the board...
Disappointing result especially when we had a number of excellent chances, the greaves one cost us the game however there was others. Onto next week and hopefully get back to winning ways
They are similar to us, but looking at the two teams, I just think they shade it. They have a better striker in JCH and they are more tactically flexible than us.
We missed Jones in his midfield role and the back 4 always looked vulnerable from set pieces and corners. Eaves started well but faded badly, thought Slater did ok. Crewe away next up still with no option of Whyte or Magennis, it'll be tough again.
So, how much are you willing to bet on them finishing above us? Something you seem to think is guaranteed with their all important guaranteed game in hand.
Eaves is such an enigma. First half I was thinking how much more mobile he was than Magennis , linking the play, full of confidence. Second half he was back to being pulled up for a foul every time he challenged (not sure many of them were fouls) and his confidence seemed to evaporate. A word too on Wilks - even when he's on his game, his greed frustrates me. When he's off his game , as I feel he has been again the last 2 games, I find myself shouting 'release it, Malik, release it Malik' like a madman. Every week I wonder whether Grant McCann ever suggests he might look up occasionally.
