Was a very mature drive by Lando. Stamped some authority over Ricc too

Stayed away from the thread as watched delayed recording.

It's funny looking back at some of the takes that Lewis can't do it (which I agreed with BTW).

Absolutely exceptional drive.. Best first race I can remember tbh.

No debate on the Max Overtake... Can never go off track to overtake.

The Mercs are prob only at 70% and still winning... Can't see them going anywhere but faster.

You all said it all. The next race will require different attributes from the cars. 3 weeks, Merc will be working on more for the car and Max will be less ragged under pressure. Lewis was tested there, he isn't used to that level of pressure, as his body language showed after. It was clean racing, Max has matured and is in danger of joining the human race! Thoroughtly enjoyable. I lost the internet at the very point of Max overtaking (away from home and on a shared internet). I was shocked when it came back on to see Lewis was in the lead still, almost a lap later. What a point to lose the internet though.

I took great pleasure in the looks on Adrian Newey and Christian Horners face when they failed to win tonight

I'm still not sure how Max didn't win that one. It looked for so long that Hamilton was a sitting duck and figured Max would just cruise past and sail off in to the distance. I honestly thought Merc had dropped another strategy clanger. Good to see Hamilton still remembers how to make a pass tough.

If Merc don't make more gains, I can't see Hamilton pulling out wins like that consistently enough to win the title. Though some more of that please! Was stood up for the last few laps. Been a while since I've had to do that. :)

Didn't Hamilton win in Mexico doing an extremely long stint on hard tyres when they he wasn't expected to?

Assuming Merc will start to claw back some of their lost downforce in a few races then Red Bull need to be capitalising at this stage of the season while they are vulnerable. That's one opportunity gone begging today.

Yeah, it's definitely a lost opportunity. Hard to tell if they'll be punished for it by the end of the season. Could be close, could be a cake walk for RBR. All depends on Merc now. Hope they can at least get on par with the Red Bulls, because we could be blessed with a brilliant title fight.

It was that early second stop that had me... Knowing Max was going to be on fresher rubber and significantly faster than Hamilton, I figured there was no chance at all. Figured it would all be over by lap 50. What do I know though. :)

That Mercedes must have been some car to be fighting Red Bull despite the reg changes seriously hurting it.

I mean look at the Aston Martin for goodness sake. Absolutely nowhere compared to last year. (Racing Point)

The aero regs were deliberately changed to affect Mercedes and help other teams.

I think Lewis has given Merc a boost that will see the team behind the headlines work even harder to better their car. I think Max has massive respect for Lewis.

Hamilton has now won a race in 15 consecutive season. That's some going, and now makes me feel old.
