Rafa had a breakdown and suddenly we were getting 4 or more quite regular as Villa & Arsenal were others off the top of my head and then there was the Fulham game when we could have got 10 but actually only won with an injury time winner from Benayoun iirc

I was only talking about players who don't go missing which rules Gini out. <ok>

Exactly. A clean sheet welcome as it means we’ve not lost. But it isn’t half as important as us scoring at least one.

yeah, a 1-1 is way way better than a 0-0.

A win would be absolutely awesome. the way leipzig has to approach the game against us at anfield didn't really suit the, but they simply didn't have the forwards to hurt us, i didn't think we played particularly well and left too many gaps.

In general I think a 2 goal lead is needed in this one to account for the real madrid quality. Of course that s until we see exactly how our team with those two cbs can do to cope with real.

The trouble with genuine quality is it usually hurts you.

Yep. People often refer to that "rant" as the breaking point that season but we went on a phenomenal run of form to the end of the season. Man Utd were just getting the results too (annoyingly)

yeah but in reality we had lost it over a few bad results where torres and gerrard were out.

if we had not have hockeyed utd 4-1 and old trafford the margin could have been much much more.

Good line up, if Kieta stays fit. Nice to see Jota starting. Very much an attacking team, **** or bust for away goals!

    Well big team.news.

The boss has gone for players who keep it and make interceptions in midfield

Hes also gone for the form man up front so we will only have to see now if its goals we get or if the midfield job firmino adds is missed.

Bold call putting keita straight in. Jota had to start after current form, but thought Bobby played well at weekend.

Without trying to jinx things, that Madrid team looks a shadow on the one that beat us 3 years ago.

No Ramos, no Varane. Modric is 35 and not as mobile these days, Kroos is 31 and never been most mobile so we could get about them in that midfield with some high energy stuff.

The mythical Ben davies is on the bench fellas.

Jimmy might even be able to get a shot of him sat there tonight. Exciting times.

Oh and finally would you.guys.make 5 subs in this game.

Looking at the bench I personally wouldn't trust it. Thiago and firmino to come on. Maybe milner later but after that youd be struggling to back someone else to not **** things up.

Bit harsh on Bobby after his performance against Arsenal but probably the right decision.

    Keita though <doh>

prob not if it’s 0-0 but if were winning 1-0 into last 10 mins then players like tsimikas on for mane for example to freshen it up and add bit of defensive cover.

Think was always going to be bit of rotation especially as Bobby was out for few weeks.

I assume Keita is to help win that midfield battle with energy. Our 3 should be able to out run abs out work their 3

Jones has played well when he's been given chances and Ox can always be a threat further up the pitch too

It's not a bad bench apart from defensively
