Exactly. Using the excuse that they have not had enough game time is the highest joke ever. We'll give them game time. Ironically they will not get it even now, when they should because of this skulduggery. ****ers.
Thankfully it just further undermines the team spirit. Ferguson was recently moaning about his missing players instead of praising those who'd come in. Now he'll have a keeper, on the bench, who's 4 years older than the one they've brought in. No wonder Ferguson can't get the job done.
Be interesting to see how it plays out. If the new keeper doesn't get off to a flyer it's bad news. Good for us. That said, we just need to do the business ourselves. Starting Saturday with one of the toughest games of the run in IMO
Ferguson cost Peterborough two points against us which could cost them promotion. McGeady knew he didn't have to put the ball in the corner because he'd already sussed the keeper's injury. Pym knew he couldn't dive to his right so showed McGeady to the other side. But he left too big a gap and it was like a free kick in training for McGeady. Ferguson isn't quite as clever as he thinks.
As I said earlier, it’s frustrating and pretty silly they’ve been allowed to do it, but I ain’t losing any sleep. It feels pretty ridiculous that we have got to the point where we are bothered that a league one team we no longer have to play, have replaced a good keeper with another good keeper. Just have to concentrate on our own games. If Posh go up it’s because they’ve deserved it, not because they’ve cheated the new Gordon Banks in goal. We are on fire. We don’t need to worry about Peterborough conceding a few less goals than they might have done.
I would have thought that he would play his current second choice keeper before sticking in a youngster who hardly knows his defenders. Whoever plays, there is likely to be a downgrade in the competence of the defence' But as people have said we just need to win our games.
If the rules were changed because of covid, what the f*** has this injury got to do with covid. Another total cock up by the EFL.
Is anyone bothered ... .... it's just a topic that cropped up after the thread was posted. Peterborough are a direct rival, surely we can discuss them on a chat forum without it being ridiculous.
Another team cheating to get what they want admiraly backed up by the efl again, it's done now so we crack on as we know we're the better team and it's in our hands. If other teams have to cheat to beat us then let them try, for me it changes nothing as we'll still come out on top starting tomorrow
How are we cheating read the rules every other team would do the same.I know yours would have done . Worry about your own team instead of others.
I hope he breaks his leg in the warm up. They have basically been allowed to replace a keeper cause the manager thinks his number 2 is ****. All this shows is there is now literally no point clubs having a back up keeper in their squads. If ya number one ever gets injured just use the loan market
But... but.. That’s impossible... Sky showed the highlights... We only had one shot all game... must be true!!!
I see that the EFL are trying to limit squad sizes to 20 from 25 in L1 and L2, 46 games with a 20 man squad! Another brilliant idea from them that should get booted out at the first wiff of legal action, maybe they have Gavin Williamson advising them. As pointed out, what does a newly relegated championship club do regarding contracts?
As someone mentioned earlier, they have spent heavily investing in their first team, but their squad depth is pathetic. Couple of injuries and they could be in serious trouble.
Peterborough aren't cheating if they're being allowed to do it, and we'd do it too if we knew that we were allowed. It's stupid that they're allowed to do it, but clearly they are. Wishing that the lad breaks his legs is a bit much
Would it be classed as an emergency if Pym had been replaced by the keeper on the bench, of course not as it's quite normal. I love his quote in their local paper ... "The club are in a great position and hopefully I can help them maintain their form." As Peterborough'current form has seen them falter I hope he does.
