Thats 3 wins on the bounce at the back end of our first season back in the Premier League. We showed how good our defenders really are because we had to play a 5-4 formation against the best team in England and one of the best teams in the world. Koch Llorente Struijk backed up by Ayling and have to say a big Alioski showing. Cooper was playing well before his departure and Phillips stood up again. Must be not far off winning team if the year and manager of the year
Just remember though Doc, we can't keep this up until the end of the season, so all the "professional footballing journalists" keep telling us
People forget that when we were conceding lots of goals we had either no Koch, no Cooper or no Llorente or no Phillips. All these players are now fit so in effect our team is much stronger now than it was back then. Man City romping the league but Leeds have taken 4 points of them. 2 or 3 top signings will see have a go next season
Edmondson starts for Northampton Gotts starts for Salford Alfie smashed it last night for Oldham Stevens still on the bench for Bradford
Felt Guilty about trolling the Galagher brothers and Rickie Hatton because they all wanted Leeds back in the Prem, maybe not today though #Bluemoonmyarse
Just going to say this, even though I was a young kid when Revie was running the legends. I have not been happier or prouder of my club more ever since these last 3 seasons under Marcelo Bielsa. Gorgeous football, happy fans, respectful manager with a team who will do anything to get a result. Honour, fairness and battle
Yesterdays result will also help Victor Orta in his negotiations for new players. If he has a player who is on the fence and not sure that the Leeds project will be on track, that performance in beating the league leaders will show that we are not far off......
Leeds arranged a friendly against York City for the U23s so that Jack Harrison could keep fit and make sure the 23s stayed sharp for the run-in Joffy on the bench against Man City but Sam Greenwood at it again
This weekend just keeps getting better & better. If this article is true, even scum winning tonight will not spoil a fantastic weekend ... https://motleedsnews.com/news/bielsa-in-advanced-talks-over-new-two-year-leeds-contract/
A month ago Bielsa in an interview said e would prefer to do his contract when we know the outcome if the season because anything can happen and the club may decide that they have changed their minds as recent results could have been poor, so best to wait and see. He added that if the club insist he will sign now, but said they would be silly. We know the outcome now we know Orta can get on and do his biz, so just maybe Bielsa is going to sign now and it will be a rolling 1 year contract like he signed the first time. I think he likes it here and enjoys playing against big teams
Anyone want to hazard a guess of our centre back pairing for our next game? Am I the only one who thinks Cooper will struggle to get back in?
I'd like to see Struijk. He hasn't put a foot wrong this season and deserves to gain another 7 games experience. Him and Llorente have been our best centre halves this season closely followed by Ayling then Cooper and Koch.
We have 2 left sided CBs so Struijk will start with Llorente and Koch will have to wait until Bielsa decides to go to 3 CBs against Liverpool later in the game
I know thst I mean getting back on the starting line up with two brilliant centre backs ready to step in
