For the first 22/23 years of my life all I really cared about was football. I might’ve tuned into another sport for a brief while if there was a major event (RWC final 2003 or the Ashes 2005 for example) but for the most part I was just obsessed with football and Sunderland in particular.

One of my mates recommended I look into the NFL about 7 or 8 years ago now and I’ve really got into it, the salary cap and the draft ensure every team can dream about winning the Super Bowl someday which is quite alien in European football with a select few clubs dominating.

Then when I watched England destroy the All Blacks in 2019 (only to succumb to South Africa a week later) I found myself quite taken with Rugby Union and have been avidly following the Gallagher Premiership for about 18 months.

TBH it’s a bit of a chore trying to keep up with it all...

Same here. Would watch any football match but not anymore. Recently watching the cricket and golf but enjoy the international rugby union. Sunderland come first by an absolute mile but after that many other sports will do.

I'm a rugby union fan. Used to go and watch Saracens a lot but hadn't been for a season or two before the pandemic. Partly because I've been watching more non-league football. Quite like a bit of ice hockey too. Used to watch Durham Wasps as a kid. Have been to see Sparta Prague and Dynamo Moscow ice hockey teams and follow Sparta's results. Seen GB a couple of times and occasionally go to watch Chelmsford Chieftains.

I’ll watch and enjoy a bit of any sport, bar woman’s football.

Football has become pretty irrelevant to me. I think it was the onset of the ridiculous amount of money paid for players and the salaries that followed that. The love of the game just disappeared. This in particular is pretty hard to say as football in the 80s and 90s was what I lived for, both playing and spectating.

Now I love watching the golf and test cricket; not so keen on 20/20. However, what I follow now and particularly enjoy is the Cycling, particularly the Grand tours, Giro de Italia, Vuelta and the Tour de France. All brutal races and these guys are pure fit as **** athletes.

Sport daft as a kid. Used to know most of the answers on question of sport. Would recognise most sportsmen if shown a photo of them. Not now. Get bored by it. Wont pay extra to watch it. Rather read about it than actually watch it. Used to like watching the golf or cricket when on terrestrial TV. Found it therapeutic. But, like I say, wouldn't pay extra to watch it. Snooker on BBC 2 still, I think? But get bored of that now too.

Couple of years ago, me and the missus were in Kirkcudbright when the Glasgow to Kirkcudbright tour de Britain (i think thats what it was called) was on. We were up against the barrier, about 100 yards before the finish line. I couldn't believe how fast they came past us, there was a physical gush of wind following them.....a bit like when a lorry goes past you at high speed type of thing.
And this was after they had cycled from Glasgow!!

Sports mad me like! Falling gradually out of love with football...probs in line with the decline of SAFC tbh.
Always loved watching England in the cricket going back to the mid 80s. Always followed England in rugby union and the Lions tours.
Love the Ryder Cup, boxing and Mosconi cup in pool!
Absolutely love Baseball and named my daughter after my fave baseball team lol.
Only sport I'm not fussed on is horse racing.

VAR has royally ****ed it. You expect them to find a way to stop goals.

Football is all about goals. Refereeing errors were a great part of the after game craic.

They’ve destroyed our game, who the **** gave them that power?

Ive watched about 20% of the football this season. I used to watch hours on end.

I predicted before its introduction that VAR's main problem would be the fact that fewer errors would be made, but the errors made would be of a much grander scale. I was right. What I didnt predict was the complete arse that they have made of it and the number of times that they arse it up. I thought that major errors would be once a month at the most but its happening a few times every week. I think its best for **** officiating to hide back behind the human error curtain of the individual referee rather than the utter incompetence of the process of people getting their heads together and having time too **** it up.
