Salah should be safe. He's the one who has singlehandedly carried our attack all season. Bobby is the one who I would definitely sell this summer to raise funds. Mane, I think we should keep for another year because I do think it's just a bad run of form and plus we don't want to lose too much in one go.
One thing that has gone unnoticed IMO is Trents evolution some of his passing is next level crazy and I am liking this playmaking where he comes inside and combines with the strikers. The difference was in the quality of our defending and lack of intensity in the first leg. Anyway we have some interesting set of games coming up and I hope we can win a few and make top 4. Massive period coming up
Nobody will want firmino. Nobody. Mane is shot. But someone might take a punt but they will try to rip us off.
Trent is one of our best players and I dont care what rival fans or Gareth Southgate thinks - he's the best RB in the world. It's funny how no one talked about his defending last night. He was flawless. Unfortunately, he's our only creative force outside of the front 3.
Yep he won't raise much money from him. But he needs to grow old on someone else's pitch. We have a lot of high earning players in this squad who simply aren't delivering.
That's all fine until you look at how narrow he allowed real to defend. All he wanted to do was come inside. But then had absolutely nothing to deliver. We needed to stretch them a tiny bit and try play in round them and play a real ball across or a real cut back. We were desperate and tucked in narrow without any thought to what we were at. Rushed everything from 60minutes onwards. You really wanted the **** players who came on like shaqiri and ox to stay very very wide and at least trouble their system. It's all well and good mane wandering about giving the ball away and trent running about thinking he is a cm but we had zero width and zero overlaps. With no ball out wide we might as well have thrown robertson in the mersey. He has o threat unless running and over lapping.
It takes two to dance. For every good deal we have done we have had a person on the other side willing to gamble.
Depends on the thinking of the other club, give Mane a new challenge and the old Mane might come back. And its only really been since the Palace game he's been ****, frankly it looks like he's sulking cause everyone loves Salah more and wants to prove to people he can do things on his own. There is a player in there, we've all seen that, perhaps a different club would feel they can recapture that.
Mane's form seem to decline around October last year. This is the same time he tested positive for COVID. I do think this could be a factor because Trent got it in preseason and it took him a while to find his groove as well.
I think we keep Bobby but he's used more sparingly, it may spark a return to form with him playing less games. He's 29 so still good for a few years, I'd only sell if it was a great offer.
That is why some managers are labelled geniuses because they get rid of senior players when the team is at its peak and winning. It’s about recognising the players who are past their peak before everyone can see it. But If the manager had sold one of the top trio e.g Firmino in the summer, there surely would have been an outcry. Because the team is doing poorly, even our best players will be less valuable than before. What were the valuations of Mane and Firmino last season? Now unless you give them away at bargain prices you will be stuck with them to the end of their contracts. Most teams have a shelf life of 3-4 years. The dismantling of last seasons champions team is inevitable and a big rebuilding job is required. The quality of the new recruits will depend on achieving top 4.
Mane is fine, we will see many (lesser) suitors for his sulkyness. The offers will be small though relatively speaking imo as they will try it on. They always do. Firmino imo nobody will want and especially by nobody he would want to go play for. If mane would actually do something he'd would be loved well enough. The reality however is salah is just as annoying in terms of losing the ball and all of that but he hasnt stink the place out as much. He has been putting the work in consistently. He has been told to stand on the touchline and watch others flap about missing the target. He also.misses lots of chances which is quite annoying
Before last season is a different era. Mane was looking to real.madrid with a shiny european medal. Even last season his record was great but it was already too late due to the crisis. 50million is almost out of reach imo.
I wouldn't have been against selling Bobby last summer because his regression has been for over a over now. Mane was in good form up until October so I don't think there were any signs of a regression at that point. Interestingly with Mane, is that his underlying stats are pretty identical to last year. The only thing that is massively down is the goals but in terms of dribbles, chances createsd etc etc are in line with last year.
think it’s probably tactical as well. We were a lot more gung ho with full backs when we had vvd Gomez/Matip and fab covering. does seem like now we are only pushing 1 on at a time in order to offer that but more cover at the back
no chance klopp would sell Bobby anyway. He prob rates him higher than mane and Salah in terms of the work he does off the ball.
But Robbo is still getting into good positions but his crossing and passing have been woeful in recent months.
