On Pauls comments, he's playing fan service. He's working on the assumption that most of us are fed up with managers coming out and saying we played well when it's clear we didn't. And to be fair he included himself when he said we're not very good. He's probably also preparing the owners for his summer shopping list.

Cook is only saying what most of us have been saying for a very long time with the exception of those who continue to say " we have a very strong squad " and " easily capable of promotion ", when its obvious to a fool that we have the exact opposite for instance a No 9 that's scored one goal all season, a team that hasn't scored for 4 games in a row, a huge squad including loanees.
In the summer we will see whether the new owners will fund a rebuild or if its all talk and no action, God help us if they don't.

I couldn’t see the point in playing McGuinness today, other than that it seemed a slight improvement(from a very low start point).

It shows the poor standard in this league that we are still in touch with the play offs for playing the worst football in our history of late.

I want to see us buy three very good attacking players and a CDM in the summer.

I’d stick with Nsiala. For every wobbly moment there are five game saving moments.

Exactly Bucky, even though I complained about Skuse for years under McCarthy, I wouldn't have thought it good management for Mick to come out and say Skuse is rubbish (even if I thought it). I like honesty in a manager but you have to take people with you even PR Paul knew that.

Correct me if I'm wrong Hampy but Hurst only got 1 win in 14 whereas Cook has 2 in 10, so not sure it makes it worse?

I agree about the leaders thing though, I actually think I we had a few more leaders in the team alot of these players who are so badly performing could flourish. As I've said many times, over the past 3 seasons we brought in too many unproven players into the team who may have talent but have never proven to be able to consistently perform at this level even before coming to the club, it's fine to have a 2 or 3 players like that in in team but ours has pretty much been the whole team.

I think his post match comments were much better today and I also think there is a big big difference between saying we played well when it's clear we didn't (which Lambert annoyingly did all to often) and not throwing the players under a bus. You can still be critical of the performance without having a go at the players and saying you don't trust them.

I'm much more of a fan of Paul Cook than I am for example of Mick McCarthy but if I were a footballer and I saw the comments Cook made and I had a lifestyle and family to support I'd be worried about going to play for him.

I think we could do with strengthening in virtually every area of the pitch.

90% of the time he looks an outstanding defender at this level the problem is when he inevitably makes a mistake it is catastrophic. I'd rather Wilson than Nsiala even though Wilson is bang average you know what you're going to get.

I think the results are pretty equivalent except that Hurst was up against Championship players with more or less the same players available. We didn’t have anything like the issues scoring goals against much stronger defences. What is not comparable was the pre-season that Hurst had of course. I’m not hearing people calling for Cook to go as they were after a few games for Hurst. I didn’t think Hurst was in the wrong then and I don’t think Cook is now.

No definitely not hearing people calling for Cook to go but he has made mistakes and given the clamour for Lambert to leave we've got worse since he's left with Cook continuing many of the characteristics that people were critical of Lambert for.

I just think Cook needs to be careful and perhaps I understand now why Cook missed 2 press conferences and often tries to avoid answering questions with the press but answers them in a way you know what he's thinking because it seems like he can't help himself but answer honestly which he freely admitted isn't often the best thing to do after a game.

I don't think Hurst was a bad manager but he completely sunk here, appointing a manager with as little experience as he had at the club was a huge mistake, in my eyes appointing a manager like Cook or Lambert then would've made a difference. Whilst I don't feel any animosity towards Hurst his transfer dealings were awful, in 1 transfer window he spend more than Mick did in his whole time as Town manager and turned us into an average League 1 team overnight. He came to the club at a low starting point and given his lack of experience had noone at the club to fall back on (on terms of chairmen and chief exec) but you cannot absolve him from the blame, he made some awful decisions which apart from Evans contributed more than any other single individual to our relegation.

Perhaps he just had a bad start. All that experience did not help Lambert and has not helped Cook so far.

I am looking forward to the change of broken record that the summer under the new owners will bring.

It didn't but the damage was already done. Hurst although coming from a low starting point was able to bring in a number of players he wanted, Lambert was not given that luxury with what was a bloated and weak squad and so far Cook hasn't had the opportunity to change that. With the new owners and a number of players out of contract in the summer it looks like he will have that opportunity

Just seen the replay, an improved performance without being great.

Good to see KVY back, hopefully he can stay fit.

Given the revelations yesterday anything, including nine sides being promoted from League One, is suddenly possible.

There will be uproar if it goes through. Greed has no place in a sport for fans and clubs which play such a big part in the community
