All three Oxford goals resulted from runs from deep and some really poor tackling in central midfield. Last week we saw Cheltenham's Mohamed run the length of the pitch before slotting the ball home, again right through the centre of midfield. We look vulnerable without Gill in the side. Campbell clearly doesn't do a great job at protecting the back four any more, and some of the strikers could work a bit harder at defending from the front. Maybe a slightly more defensive formation would help to stop the rot, although it's not exactly a rot. Tough games coming up Vs Rotherham and Burton - Justin Richards must have been very young when he was on loan here. Came highly recommended, but it's taken him a while to become the potent force he seems to be today.And why did Calvin Zola choose Burton instead of Rovers?
we had 2 chances to go 2-0 up but didnt take them. they had 1 chance and took it and then our heads dropped and never got back in the game. team talk at half time got wasted due to anthony giving away yet another pen. game over then. talking about pens, we haveny had 1 in the league since opening day of the season!
That's our problem - often start brightly then concede, heads go down and we don't look like getting back in the game

At the risk of suffering from a Gashead backlash....... I think you are doing us(Oxford) a small injustice. We were better than you on the day, thats why you lost. We are not so bad a team after all. Seven games unbeaten, four wins out of six, fifth in the league and a crowd of over 9000 for your visit(1600 rovers). I dont think you played as badly as you are all making out. Don't worry mate you're right, you are in 5th position with 22pts they are in 17th position with 15 points,Oxford are the better side.. You must forgive our little boys in blue,you see they keep calling themselves,the Barcelona of the 4th tier,but they're learning....

Corrected 1986 and I'm not belittling "gasheads" I am genuinely taking the piss out of them,the same as they do to all of us,there is no hard feelings towards them,honest....
