Just watched the highlights and that sending off looks even more ridiculous after a night's sleep.

Pearson went in first, and his leg was on the ground, when our guys follow through did connect with him. It was not dangerous, merely a coming together at ground level. Pearson made a meal of it, and the ref bought it. For those who dislike VAR, this is where it is worth having. VAR would also have shown a clear offside in the build up to their 3rd goal.
This is not sour grapes, personally I don't care about any of the other teams chasing promotion. We are already there.
    Bring on Watford. OTBC

There was no way Bournmuff were going to win this game up until Giannoulis was sent off. Woodgate has stated that the sending off was “bang to rights” but video evidence shows that the tackle was a 50/50 ball and that the oppositions reaction was Oscar winning. A hollow victory Woodgate and one which you should be ashamed of.

IF we beat Watford on Tuesday and the chasing pack all win they could easily get dragged back into the play off positions.

I'm hoping Brentford snatch second .

It was almost as if up until we had the red card the game would be a breeze but the ****er in black looked like he wanted to upset the apple cart .

2 of their goals were absolute class and you can't blame Krul or the defense for that, also Giannoulis shouldn't feel bad about the red card and I wouldn't want him to pull out of challengers like that in the future that's his job .

Weird day of football all round with none of the top 4 winning.

It would be very satisfying to get the trophy out on Tuesday against Watford but it doesn't really matter we are already up and can take horrible defeats like yesterday with a shrug of the shoulders due to our consistency and hard work over the season.

Can't recall there being many undeserved fluke wins for us over the season we got promoted on merit and quite easily.

Thanks for carrying us over the last 13 games and I'm in the brilliant position of knowing I can't **** things up too much with promotion assured .

Make sure you sign up for next season buddy and we can do it all over again.

Well We did manage to get over the line and it was mid April by the time I lost. So DD your time to shine, get us the championship on Tuesday!

I have to say that sending off was bizarre. Giannoulis gets blocked by a Bournemouth player and then sort of does a little jump before going for the ball to try and steady his positioning. Meanwhile Pearson is coming in two footed sliding on the ground like a freight train and Giannoulis ends up standing on his leg and Pearson rolls around like his life depends on the Oscar he is going for. If Giannoulis gets sent off then quite frankly Pearson deserved to as well and I don't think that's yellow and green tinted lenses. Anyway you decide, if it wasn't for the sending off I think we would have smashed then Buendia looked in the mood!

Pearson was falling down every time we got within 2 yards of him, and the commentators kept praising him, saying what a great player he is??
The ref certainly spoiled what could have been a really good game.
I still think it would have been a close game, but we would certainly have had enough not to have lost it.

For me, Pearson should have received at least the same punishment as Giannoulis (as someone else says somewhere, I think, a yellow card each might have been the decision of a referee who was even vaguely competent). Pearson goes in two-footed and reckless.

Giannoulis' red wouldn't be overturned on appeal, so he's out for the next three games. I guess that means Jacob at LB since Xavi hasn't been making the bench.

The highlights does not show how Hanley got injured. I am sure it was a similar incident to the one that Gianoulis received a red for.

I think Xavier will start. He has not featured recently because Jacob gives you more possibilities coming off the bench.

Agree with this, only potentially complicated by the Quintilla contract situation. If he makes a certain number of appearance then we're obligated to sign him for something like £6-8m. Not sure the club want him now they have Giannoulis.

Other than Sorensen, who do we have as back up to Giannoulis? Is Sorensen going to cut the mustard in the PL at FB which is not his preferred position?
