    Statement issued:

    And this contradicts it:

It seems this is likely to impact on the Qatar World Cup which will unite FIFA and UEFA, the odds seem to be against it...

Those clubs are already just a name within a community. How many home grown first team players do any of them have? I bet you couldn’t field a first team of English players from the squads of all those six clubs put together.

Perhaps I’m in a minority, but if this causes these types of teams made up of international superstars to break away, somehow leaving space for more home grown effort at country levels, then maybe lit’s good news.

I do think many local supporters will feel hugely disenfranchised and will seek their match day fix at other grounds.

On the other hand if they do f*ck off there would be no relegation and 6 go up, we might be in with a shout next season...

With Leeds being such a massive club, surely they're in as well!

But you had the chance to gain promotion to those leagues, via the pyramid.
Who thought Leicester would ever win the Premier League?
This Super league would be a closed shop, with no chance for most teams to get into it.
The point I was making is that if these clubs leave the Premier League and Wolves win it, that achievement would be diminished because most of the best sides weren't there.
A bit like a player winning Wimbledon with the top 3 or 4 players not there through injury.

Can I also just point out...Arsenal are currently 9th, with Leicester, Everton and West Ham above them, but apparently not good enough for this 'Super League'...just highlights the arrogance of the whole thing.

Leicester have won as many PL titles as Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs combined in the last 15 years.

So can I ask how many of you religiously watch the Sky premier League and even the Champions League coverage.

I don't. I am interested but I can give it a miss if some championship match is on...that relates to me in some way

Are the people who claim to be Man U fans from sunny Surrey going to be so interested in watching their team...in this super League.

This will also take money out of the PL too

This will not happen it is a bargain chip, I hope everyone calls their bluff...

But in a way I want them to go for it crash and burn...and then come begging back.

Good point. In the last 15 years, as many as Liverpool...more than Arsenal and Spurs. More than Spurs with no time limit.

    Henderson (Utd)
    Walker (City)
    Stones (City)
    Maguire (Utd)
    Chilwell (Chelsea)
    Henderson (Liverpool)
    Mount (Chelsea)
    Sterling (City)
    Foden (City)
    Rashford (Utd)
    Kane (Spurs)

What concerns me is that England will have an incredibly weakened side if the players from these clubs are banned, just when we look like we have a chance of winning something.

I get the factual sentiment ... but ... you can only win the league you’re in. Just because Leeds haven’t been in the PL for years doesn’t seem to have diminished the value of teams who have won the PL.
But honestly, the sentiment remains. You enter the competition and you come out at the top; you’re the very best that season.

As for the ‘Super League’ I share the sentiment of everyone here ... I hope they get on with all their bluster and greed and **** off. Crash and burn, fail or succeed, I don’t give a damn. The majority of football, the fans, will hopefully stick together and not prove to be sheep and follow their clubs regardless.

Like Beth I may watch from a distance, like an Arsene Wenger, but I won’t be watching. All I will be doing is following my club and hoping we can improve enough to be able to make it to the EPL and do ourselves proud in the league. The EPL will be a more interesting league without them that’s for sure and maybe an opportunity to keep a level and competitive league for all football fans to enjoy.

Not sure you're getting my point.
Never mind. Maybe I haven't explained it very well.

And if that happens, they'll have even more money to try and dominate that league.

Any player participating in this league from any club will be banned from international competition, definitely UEFA extend that to the World Cup (FIFA has previously said this would be the case for participants in breakaway competitions) and all these Brazilians, Belgians, French, Germans, Argentinians etc will also be barred, as well as the English, Spanish and Italians.

I hope they do this, exist on Chinese money and Indian gambling syndicates and become completely irrelevant to the countries which host them, end up as franchises based in the Middle and Far East. They won’t, because it’s a who will blink first negotiating tactic. I notice that this new organisation has already issued writs against UEFA to prevent bans, so it’s heartwarming to know that some lawyers will make some money as well. I’ve also read some statements from some of the clubs involved, they are deluded idiots.

True Kiwi, but don’t you think a total breakaway league is their endgame. This IS wanting their cake and eat it while they test our ability to resist them as they quaff their cake in their boardrooms and consider throwing on the finest cream and cutting away completely from everyone else.

I listened to about 10 minutes of Sky Sport News and Talksport this morning. What made me laugh was how they were condemning these clubs and calling them elitists.
Hang on a minute... these are the same media bods who do nothing but talk and promote the clubs. I said before if you aren’t a top six club you don’t exist. They banged on about the pyramid effect... what pyramid!

I remember a few years back on a Tuesday night. It was a full fixture of Championship games with some great derbies and major clashes for promotion/relegation. The same night Chelsea had some worthless Champions League fixture. By that I mean they were either out of the comp or through and it was the last group game v some obscure team.
This was the chance for sky/Talksport and co to concentrate on the Championship. Did they? No chance. All night was either live commentary of Scum or discussing it. Nothing on the championship or the games. We didn’t exist in their eyes. So I won’t listen to these media hypocrites.

My point is if these teams leave and it undervalues our league and National team then so be it. I would rather watch an average England team full of players playing for the shirt than a few that are only interested in the money. It’s quite simple.

I think we all have to accept that the game is changing Prem/VAR/rules and eventually I can see these so called big clubs joining a Euro or World league. We have to remember that these owners are mostly foreign and don’t give a to22 about us English fans or of a clubs history. Many fans around the World will pay to see this and no doubt games will be played in guest nations.

It may give other a chance to win the Prem or cup final. Sadly many clubs have financial problems and I can see a few going bust or even part time. Welcome to the new NFL.
