Wouldn't PL clubs have to vote on this? I'm since it requires 14-6 to pass anything, the six ****s couldn't stop it though I suppose
And rightly so ... Mourinho was sacked over his disagreement to the ESL but Levy isn't going to say that. Egypt made Salah Captain today aswell in a club or country twist. The club is ****ed because of these yanks
It looks like the American model where canadian and US clubs participate in the same league. So that at the very top of the tree is this Super League. Underneath will be the domestic leagues (EPL, la liga, bundesliga, etc). If the dirty English 6 are kept in the premiership it will be a mess. Can you imagine City and MU first and second not going into the UEFA CL because they go into the super league but Leicester and West Ham going into it? The cleanest way is to exclude the 6 from the premiership.
Klopp has been one of the biggest critics of this any time it was brought up in the past. I honestly believe he'll be gone by the end of the week
I would presume their main issue is getting enough clubs for their 20 team leagues for next august. It is entirely possible that the Uefa bods will basically ignore the situation and we will see a tournament. It would be a perfectly acceptable slaughterhouse from an enlgish perspective. Top 4 from spain - sevilla, villareal, betis, sociedad. top 4 form italy - atlanta, napoli, lazio, roma top 4 from england England leicester, west ham, everton and LEEDS or VILLA top 4 from Germany = bayern, leipzig, wolfsburg, dortmund not assured top 3 from france = psg, lille, monaco top 2 form holland, ajax and psv. as far as i can tell bar losing the "creme" from the top this would be quite an acceptable tournament with psg red hot favourites alongside bayern. you've more room to turn to eastern european former teams and give men a few spaces i suppose but just keeping the same numbers you can see england is gutted You'd surely have to ASSUME if uefa can't find a resolution to stop it happening in time they could run an alternative alongside it. we actually have a tournament with 2 groups of 10. (with 12 names known) that play each other and the top 5 of each table go through in some form to playoffs and last 16. Half the teams basically stop playing after they play their league section. The more i look at it the more i have to feel that spurs and arsenal would be the absolute whipping boys of this competition and I think were approached purely to get enough numbers to force the premier leagues hands.
Yes it's certainly a worry. As much as I'd back his actions I don't want him to go and hope this will all die out.
Not sure where Galloway got the second half of that quote from. But it wouldnt surprise me at all, Klopp has been very vocal in his opposition to a European Super League whenever asked. Word is it is also why Jose was sacked.
Arsenal and Spurs joining the super league is like me walking into The Crucible and putting 50p on the table.
May I just offer the following. Man utd share price is up. Lille (not in) is down. The markets have spoken. Greed is good.
This^ Once something can be used to make money it becomes a target for those whose sole aim in life is to make as much as they can, regardless of the effect on anyone or anything else.
