B Team playing Chelsea, Ramsay got a red, Olaigbe put them one up, now 1 - 1 61 minutes. Update 3 - 1 down FULL TIME
Surly heads must roll in the Academy set up soon if this disastrous run of hammering continues, the teams aren’t just loosing on a weekly basis, they are being thrashed off the part
The PL2 Team should be a Squad of First Team back up players, we only field a bunch of seemingly talentless kids.
Compare to the start of the season, and that side has lost practically more than an entire first XI. Harry Lewis Kayne Ramsay Jake Vokins Yan Valery Alex Jankewitz Kegs Chalke Will Ferry Jake Hesketh Josh Sims Nathan Tella Dan N'Lundulu Caleb Watts Tyreke Johnson Callum Slattery Will Smallbone Tom O'Connor The turnover in that side is insane. You never see a settled side game by game and it shows.
The 9 subs for the first team squad aren't helping either. I'm guessing that we need to move a few of these youngsters on to other clubs to help finance the summer rebuild. I get that but still - this sequence of results must be morale sapping for both players and coaches alike.
Certainly doesn't help. Take Will Ferry as an example. Unused sub about 15 times over the past year. Not a single minute of First Team football to his name. Just there filling a spot. Jankewitz is in a similar boat. Never plays, yet is constantly on the bench just filling a spot. It can't be doing any of these lads much good development wise
Makes you wonder what is best for them. The academy league was supposed to test youngsters at the highest possible level (outside of first team football) and obviates the need to loan them out to lower league sides. At the same time they develop AS a team. But now we loan quite a few decent players out - in the hope that the experience gets them ready for the first team. But the really promising ones just sit around on the bench - the only benefit they seem to get is 'training' with the first team squad. Which is best for their development?
