It won’t happen.....the management think he is doing a good job lol. When he signed he said he had seen all the Swans dvds and knew the Swans3a Way of playing. He obviously hasn’t or picked up another clubs footage....we don’t play football now perhaps some hoofball

Because of him. Although I would say he is heavily flawed. Then again if he wasn't he would be managing in the prem wouldn't he? Let's be honest though, no one expected playoffs last year and no one expected promotion this year. If anything, relegation was mentioned a good few times. The fact we are pushing the boat on promotion 2 years running with the team we have I would say is a credit to him. Pretty much everyone agreed that the team we have right now isn't a scratch on the one we had the year we went up, yet we are still up there fighting for it.
Me personally, I am not his biggest fan as I find his subs are left way to late to influence a game. He is waayyyy to reactive and not at all proactive. Also the style of play is very tedious to watch, however I recognise that he has few options and limited investment to work with.

Last years playoff was really down to others teams such as Forest / Reading have brain farts which we capitalised on.

In my view, there were loads of mumblings and moans about Cooper last season - substitutions, game management, failing to learn from earlier games (Millwall away a prime example to me) etc - but he/we benefitted from Forest (as Matt says) in particular imploding and the hugely positive impact of Rhian Brewster.

This season, Cooper had a stronger squad - yes we lost Joe but we signed Bennett, Manning, Smith, Lowe and Latibeaudiere.

However, failing to sign a centre forward was a huge mistake, and - very tellingly for me - the decision to let Celina leave .... Cooper’s inability to ‘handle’ and play that flair player meant that we now have no one with guile to unlock defences with a piece of individual brilliance.

How many games have we won where we haven’t (really) deserved to?

Yes you make your own luck, but when your luck runs out and you have no Plan B - let alone someone like Celina - means that opposing Managers can work you out.....

Lee Bowyer said as much last Friday - that spooked Cooper into making the formation change yesterday, but it was pretty evident early on that the guys hadn’t been practising that system.

What’s more, the lack of penetration and a lack of shots should have resulted in changes being made at HT - not 10 mins from the end.

Anyway, is it true that Glen Johnson said on Sky that he can’t believe we are 4th?

Perhaps, the lazy punditry that has benefitted Cooper is now waking up and smelling the coffee.

If the Managers of Norwich and Brentford had our squad, we would be Top 2 - in my opinion <cheers>

Cheers imo a good analysis of how and why we are where we are .I really wanted as I do with all our managers for him to succeed (who wouldn't unless you have a warped mind ) , but I'm sorry to say Coopers is not the man to take this Club forward ,as part of the coaching team possibly but as the manager then no .

The disappointing thing is that Cooper doesn't seem to have improved in my opinion. Last year we were all going on about terrible substitutions etc and it's the same old **** this season. Whatever he is doing at the moment is a massive failure. We got into a position where we could have been in an automatic spot, but over 2 months of dire football and there seems to be no answers or improvement. FFS his quote before the Preston match was "we need to play better" - is that his team talk for the day as well ???

Yesterday, we played a whole ninety minutes at home without a shot on target and that against a side who came into the game as the most out of form team in the Championship.

I understand that it is 447 minutes since we last scored a goal and 585 minutes since we scored in open play.

We have failed to score in four successive games and in the 447 minutes since we last scored a goal we have had just 7 shots on target.

As a team we are too pedantic and too slow moving forward when we pass the ball allowing the defenders to regroup in depth stopping us having any clean shots at goal whether on target or more likely off target. We are now playing hoof ball as our wing backs are being high pressed by the opposition. It should only take a few minutes in a game for a good manager to suss out what the opposition are doing and change tack but not clueless who waits until at least half time to even think about it...
What is most frustrating is the “we have over achieved brigade”. We were right in the mix and deservedly so until January and then something happened. Is there a revolt in the dressing rooms? Has Cooper stopped listening to Marsh and Tate for some advice?
If we are not careful we will fall out of the play offs a la Forest last season and we will have a struggle on our hands going forward...

He's got something about him, that's obvious, we're doing better than expected. The problem Coops has is, it looks like this is his peak. There's been no progression in playing style or tactical awareness.

Sorry I have to disagree , our first season with him he still had Potters influences in the team, we fell into the same trap as we're seeing now . Brewsters goals and the collapse of other sides last season gave us a false position . He's either very stubborn or just can't see the obvious. We have more than a decent squad but what we're seeing is a distinct lack on how they should be used. He stumbles upon a winning formula and we muddle through , tries something different which worked then reverts back true to form. Last night we were set up to defend, FFS we were at home needing the points and he leaves strikers on the bench and plays Roberts where exactly , the poor lad didn't know where he had to play , hitting wide balls into the box for Routledge to try and win against 6 foot plus defenders .No one can come out of last night with any credit, either they players are too scared to make a mistake or are not playing for him or the Club either way its not looking good.

Well I didn't expect us to be in the play off positions all season, I thought we'd really struggle, mid table at best. As for most of what you've said, then I agree, that's basically what I meant by Coops has peaked. He's doing the best he can (possibly do)

There's absolutely no way Cooper will be of any interest to Spurs.
