Good Morning. It's Thursday 22nd April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. Leeds target 35m left back Real Betis left back Alex Moreno says he is flattered by the news 'big clubs' including Leeds Utd have contacted his agent regarding his availability this Summer. Moreno joined Betis in the summer of 2019 from Rayo Vallecano on a 5 year contract. He has started 19 La Liga matches this season and is versatile on the left. His rave reviews this term has caught the attention, not only of Leeds, by also French giants Marseille. The 27yo told beIN Sports “It is true that they have called my agent, big clubs, but I don’t know anything,” “I’m focused on finishing LaLiga by qualifying for Europe with Betis. “My agent has told me to focus on Betis, on the games that remain. It is the task of the agents. “(But) it is a source of pride that big clubs notice me.” Betis have slapped a ridiculous 35m release clause on the left back. Romain Perraud and Miguel Gutierrez also remain short listed, and would be available at a far more reasonable price. Many clubs have reached financial meltdown due to the Corona pandemic, and will be desperate to offload their star players in order to stay afloat. Leeds have an excellent European scouting team, led by Victor Orta. Could Leeds make a killing this Summer? The 27yo recalls that the Reds energy levels were dropping, and the back four were falling deeper and deeper as the game progressed . He also recollected what Fabinho was telling his teammates. “Fabinho was saying to the rest of the back four a lot: ‘we’re too deep, we’re too deep, we need to get up, we need to get up’,” he told The Official Leeds United podcast. “And when a team starts dropping off, you know it’s because they’re too tired to keep getting up and dropping and getting up. “He was saying it all the time, but it wasn’t changing anything, they were just getting deeper and deeper. Bamford himself acknowledged that he too became fatigued during the closing stages:- “I was actually sick in my mouth yesterday when I was on the pitch! I was blowing,” “I think it was just after I hit the bar. They broke on a counter attack and I’ve sprinted back from their penalty box to ours and then nothing came of it and Illan got the ball and we started attacking again. “I’ve ran all the way back up the pitch and we have just kept the ball at the back, passing it round and I thought I was about to burp. “I just burped and I was just sick in my mouth so I had to spit it out, it was on the pitch but it was just a little bit! “So the rest of the game I’ve just got this taste of sick in my mouth, it was horrible. “After I’d just done that run Marcelo was shouting ‘Patrick move!’.” please log in to view this image
Anyone keeping track of how many left backs we're being linked with? I see the British Premier League idea is being floated once again. I'd be interested to hear the views of the Scots on Celtic and Rangers breaking away to the Prem.
Morning all Moreno will not be joining Leeds and the article doesnt actually have him mentioning Leeds Utd. He says they have contacted my agent, BIG CLUBS. No mention of any club actually except those the interviewer mentioned Biggest news today is that all representatives of the so-called big 6 have been asked to step down from all Premier League and FA committees. Also Radz best mate in football Nasser Al-Khelaifi (QSI/PSG Owner and owner of beinsport) is now Chairman of the ECA he European Club Association. It also came out from Perez that the ESL deal was 2 years in the making. 2 years these greedy twots were working behind everyones back trying to undermine things. Perez actually said last night that there is still time to change the format if the CL even though a new format was only agreed on Monday
Boris has scared the shyt out of everyone in he Premier League and a big reason why the 6 English clubs jumped ship first. Tracy Crouch now doing a full review which means the whole football pyramid, funding and importantly club ownership.....
Morning all Dock them all 10 points at the beginning of next season. It will be like starting Lewis Hamilton at the back of the grid
Not enough, it goes on in the background. European Super League: Project is 'on standby', says Real Madrid president Florentino Perez
They can’t break away to the prem. it’s not an invitational tournament and I’d view that as just the same as the ESL, if they want to join English football, they start in the non league and get promoted from there. Even then, why are they not branded as greedy twats abandoning Scottish football?
Unfortunately for football the governing bodies are so bent that they're too busy lining their own pockets to realise this project was happening. There are 5bn new subscibers available in the Far East. They are becoming richer every day and football, especially European Football, is perfectly placed to take advantage. The SL is dead for now but it just means, for the fans, that the big money will go to someone else. Maybe it would be better to let them go and get back to a league not dominated by who has the most money, if that's even possible any more.
Cant wait for fake news to be outlawed because today Im so confused. Story 1 Robin Koch is weak, too weak to play in the Premier League thinks Bielsa Story 2 Robin Koch will start alongside Diego Llorente
I read the piece on Perez and again all he could do is talk about money money money he claims to have been in football for 20 years and thinks he knows it all so he’s nought but a kid, with respect to our younger members. Also seems that our Asian brothers are not content with taking our country over but now want to take our football over assisted by Perez who seems content to sell out us Europeans Seem to have seen all this before FFM (Football Fans Matter)
Perez has only himself to blame if his club are in a financial mess. He shouldn’t have sanctioned the astronomical wages they pay to the likes of Bale at £600,000 a week. Unsustainable, and I hope they go bust.
bale is more interested in golf these days apparently......not bad picking up 600k on the side, anyway it's a short career!!!!! pass me a hankie
