I quite like Victorian Industrial architecture, and someone I know visited Ironbridge for work, and suggested it's worth a look in if I'm passing. I've yet to have reason to though.
I reckon there's something decent or of interest almost wherever you find yourself. The acid test is how decent, how interesting and would you go back. I had to stay over in Boston (Lincs) for work a few years ago, bit of a dump but I found one pub which was ok and went there every visit. The work stopped and I've not been back since and probably never will.
Wisbeach when working there I went into a pub and straight away this guy comes over and says to me “do want fight “ I replied “sorry have I done anything to offend you “, he said no not at all I just wandered if you wanted a fight
I quite enjoyed my visit to Swansea. To be truthful It might have something to do with the 10 pubs on Wind Street.
Sounds about right for Luton. I had a similar experience when I made a short visit to Peckham, SE London The receptionist said when you leave the hotel don't turn right, it's too dangerous. We ended up in a restaurant next door to the hotel and returned under the cover of darkness.
When I stayed at a hotel in Johannesburg, the hotel security man insisted he had to accompany me to and from the shop during darkness.
There's nothing wrong with Aberdeen or Dundee in my opinion. Both are decent places for a short stay but there wasn't a great deal going off when I was there. I'd give the vote to Aberdeen though because on my visits there the high street had 4/5 bookies. It's bad when you have to grade a place on this basis, I know, but there you go.
