The main thing is: We all need to see how these big six ****s are going to be punished - they can't walk away and if that means those clubs fans get punished as a by product I'm afraid that's tough for me We need to see how Richard Masters is going to be punished now its very clear he ****ed us Indeed the best thing to come out of that ESL effort, was the big six he pandered to on the takeover, turning round and ramming it right up his hoop. Personally think the Saudi's should be allowed to decide his fate under their laws, with all options on the table. The Saudi can't pass a proper owners test, but Henry, Glazers etc can? Unbelievable stuff really. The summer is gonna be great. Bruce gone, **** tons of money to spend, the area about to get a big lift from Saudi investment.
Yes but others will hopefully follow... Last summer there was not one ounce of positivity in the media and it wasn't at all helpful
thought I would post this here latest from NUST ____________________________________________________________________________ GOVERMENT LAUNCHES FAN-LED REVIEW - TERMS OF REFERENCE PUBLISHED Earlier this week the government announced the launch of the fan-led review of football governance. Last night they published the Terms of Reference for the review. You can read the Terms of Reference here. Initial observations are that there is no clarity on how the review will be 'fan-led' and that there are no timescales for delivery. We are firm in our view that football governance and ownership models need reform. Over the next few days and weeks we will engage with our members on what we will feed into the fan-led review so please do watch out for a member survey over the next few days. We will also be forming a working group to help drive this work forward - if you would like to help form the Trust's response on this please contact Trust Chair Greg Tomlinson. We will continue to engage with local politicians and other figures of influence, and to work closely with the Football Supporters Association to try to ensure that we influence the change that is required. This fan-led review must lead to action, to legislation on fan ownership, to far greater protection against owners that do not have their football clubs' best interests at heart. It must not become another government document that sits on a shelf and gathers dust. Football belongs to its supporters. It belongs to you and me. Our 1892 Pledge Scheme has been operating just over two weeks and has raised over £60,000 in pledges from Newcastle United supporters. We urge you to consider supporting us - and help make our ambition a reality.
Isn't Greg Tomlinson one of those morons that was on Geordie Shore? Shows how serious we can actually take this NUST movement!
Is Luke Edwards just bring a tosspot? Claims he has info to suggest the arb will fail. I do wonder if this box six thing will sent it all. I wish we knew when arbitration was starting?
So basically this was just a smoke and mirrors exercise to get the new unfair on smaller clubs CL through? Or at least it looks suspiciously like that. Its the arrogance of Perez I can't get away with. He is going on about how these big clubs contribute loads to European football in general, and they should have the most important voice in where the game is going. "We've got the most money so we should dictate to all the others" Just incredible and shows just where we are with these clubs and their ownership. The whole governance of the game and distribution of wealth now needs looked at urgently. We must put things in place to prevent it happening again, we must look at mistakes made with any club being given more of a say than another, we must look at how wealth is distributed. Personally I have long thought there should be zero financial award to winning. Sounds mad, but I don't see why the goal of winning can't be enough. Its a SPORT. Its the notion that people repeat all the time which is the problem "its a business, and must be run like one". Not really that's just because of the framework they operate in. We need to find a way to curtail clubs simply creating a monopoly through wealth created by sponsorship too or cornering all the TV money by finishing first. You need a central regulator on all the matters of finance. Yes we live in a capitalist world, but clearly that is having a negative effect on football in its own microcosm. So allow it to operated by a central body. Make it a socialist model. I dunno maybe like the FA could carry out this role or something That's where the problem lies. If you remove the financial incentive, and make it about sporting goals again, the leeches will disappear. Football will always generate interest, it always generate wealth. The wealth can be filtered to all, reinvested in the game itself. Money would certainly disappear from the game of course. Is that such a bad thing though? Money in the game is only a good thing if finding the right home.
