You guessed wrong, which should come as no surprise seeing as you're good at getting things wrong. I was happy enough with the first half, disappointed with the second. How about you?

This is why I love this board mate. Loads of good really knowledgeable posters
with great opinions and great arguments.
Unlike "other boards" where you just get abuse if someone disagrees with you.
As you say we are all just bloody frustrated with how things have worked out.
We gave it a shot came up a bit short but I've a sneaky feeling LJ will get it right and we'll be running around an empty Wembley with another cup this year.

the worst 2nd half of the season that, they bottle it, only the Doncaster home game in 21 have we played for 90 mins. We can win the play offs though, if he starts Stewart, Diamond, etc but he won't.

If Onien, Wyke, Burge, MCGeady can play every week there’s no reason the others can’t. He’s playing League 1 Pep and making a pigs ear of it, he needs to get it sorted quickly

I thought we played well until Slowbitter came on for Gooch and we went ultra defensive, then it all went downhill from there. LJ won’t last here if he keeps up with these tactics.

Nothing like SAFC to come along and kick you in the 'nads when you are already feeling down.

There's been numerous times this last season when my depression has had me reeling and then along has come match-day and I end up near suicidal.

SAFC should come with a government health warning!

PM me any time for a rant and let off steam!

Players reverted to type after conceding. About right I would say. They stopped doing all the things that had worked so well for 50 minutes. Keep it on the deck and pass the bloody thing. I dont get the panic that sets in at all.

Leadership in the team is lacking. It is ok having a go at the manager, and I thought he got a couple of things wrong today, but it is the players need to answer for that second half. Where are the players that get around players and give them a gee up or a bollocking? All I see is the likes of Wright, who should be the leader at the back, making mistakes and raising his arms at the nearest player to him and shifting blame. Leadership is just one of the numerous weaknesses need addressing in the summer.

XI players can't play the whole season no matter what the league is.

Thought as we did as well at Hull and were unlucky not to win I would have kept faith with that line up as I think McGeady was not missed as good as a player he is , when Leadbitter and him are in the side it tends to slow the game and we lose tempo . We lost all of our composure and confidence when Accrington scored their first goal and players started making mistakes that until recently we seemed to have remedied .

Yep. There's a lot in that. They are a very feeble minded lot , almost frightened of winning at times.

My issue with the manager is his formulaic timing of the subs. It was crystal clear we needed change earlier.

Pressure has turned solid players into timid, hopeful ones. The play offs are all about handling pressure really, the team that handles it best goes up.

We have a bloke with 30 goals in the team, and another with a shed load of assists. That gives us a chance. But unless the players stop buckling under pressure it's a small one.

For the 15 mins before he came on we were falling apart had conceded one and were on the back foot looking like conceding again
Thought he brought Leadbitter on at the right time but didn't think we adjusted the team enough
We played for a while effectively without any wingers
Think when he brought Leadbitter on he should have also brought on Diamond or Jones to give us an outlet.
Yes we ended very deep but think that was more down to having no real outlet other than Wyke and Winchester and Scowen panicking and sitting deep alongside Leadbitter.

We have gone from a hard to score against team to one that ships goals. I think that its primarily down to the injuries we have had.

If we had a manager who just played players out of position for the hell of it we would be screaming at him to be sacked. We have a manger now who has been forced to do that and has done well with it.

We used to have a manger who wouldn't use subs and got slated for it as he wouldn't mix things up. We now have one who will, and was praised highly for it. Now he is being slated for it.

IMHO what he can't seem to get right is the needless conceding of free kicks on the edge of our final third, as well as it seems us adapting to the oppositions style of play instead of us leaving the opposition having to adapt to us.

For me the jury is out whether he chooses a natural centre-back who is either a youth player or not match fit versus a match fit experienced pro playing out of position.

To get promoted now he needs to make us hard to score against again
