And theres the reason why something has got to be done. Something legally binding and with massive financial penalties if it starts up again. Failing to do anything will mean it happens every year until they have got what they want
The Championship title race is a strange one this season as 2 of the relegated clubs from the Prem bounce straight back up and if Woody completes the job of winning the play offs all 3 relegated clubs would go back up for the first time ever. Is it a fair league or does parachute payments kill competition, over half of the teams have or have had parachute money so clubs like Leeds for 16 years found it impossible to compete, Brentford have been knocking on the door for the last 3 seasons but always fall short clubs that gamble and fail will fall into the bottom of the league and will fight for survival as the Wendies are doing and they were fighting fir promotion 3 seasons ago along with Derby who carried on gambling for an extra season, failed and are now fighting to survive at the bottom. Villa gambled and won even though they broke the rules the Premier League have done nothing about it. Birmingham cheated and were punished with points deductions. Look at the teams around the top 10 who have had parachute cash and wasted it. Swansea, Cardiff, QPR, Boro....... Next season will see Sheff Utd Fulham and WBA back in this tough league, lets hope we never have to go back again
Who is this we mr perez... I wonder if he has realised he's on his own. Seriously with the English clubs this is a non starter. Did anyone notice the lack of scottish clubs involved.
Havent they already apologised for getting it wrong based upon incorrect data? Wonder which dick collated the data
I found it interesting Koch came on ahead of Shackleton today. First time I’ve seen Bielsa settle for the draw
Looking at player ratings right across the media its obvious our defence is highly rated and when we played the top 6 clubs earlier in the season we had players missing. Only recently did we get the players back so we can see how the results defensively have picked up and all those gobby prats who said Leeds cant defend?...... back to the player ratings Meslier scoring on average 8: Ayling 8, Alioski 7, Llorente 9 Struijk 9. Alioski had a decent day but was the weakest link in the last few games, but the other 4 along with a now fit Koch and suspended Cooper gives us a solid base next season especially if we replace Alioski with quality.
seen him play there briefly for Germany, wasn’t too impressed, but thought he looked composed today. He’s a good footballer, just hasn’t punched his weight physically and been poor in the air in games earlier in the season... and made some poor decisions. But... Settling in to new country, new pace of football etc. Let’s hope he adjusts... as you say, did well today. On the whole very happy with the 4 centre backs we have. Llorente is a quality footballer, struijk doing really well... and coops has grown into the season I feel.
Don't think he was settling for a draw. He's done this before & used a few different players to stay v.v.close to the opposition danger man. In this case, KP was doing a great job on Fernandez. Once Pogba came on, he was an equal threat, & as KP was a bit busy, the close marking of him was Koch's job. That's the way it looked to me, but tbh, this was my least favourite match of the season, so it's possible my attention span left a lot to be desired.
Just been reading... Norwich and Watford coming straight back up saves £83m in parachute money. That 83m gets shared equally between all PL teams
Added to that Leeds budgeted on finishing 17th but will now get between £18m and £21m extra for finishing 10th or better still 9th.
Just back on the subject of the Super League, Liverpool fans have started fighting back against some clubs who slag off their owners. Yes they are unhappy with their owners but clubs like West Ham and Karen Brady annoy them just as much. She tried to get the league null and void last season as WHU were in danger of relegation, and Liverpool would not be champions, which also meant Leeds, Fulham and WBA wouldnt have been promoted. Norwich did the same so whats the difference in the self interest of the so called big 6 and the **** clubs that tried to stitch up the table last season?
More proof that football clubs are run on self interest I read a piece last week that Moyes was suggesting a Prem1 and Prem 2 invite rangers and Celtic to join and reduce the number of teams in the league to give more time for games in Europe. You can bet your life Moyes would not have said this if WH were not sat in a safe position I don’t blame the fans of the six for having a go back goes to prove my point that the football set up stinks
Moyes wants to keep his mouth shut, WHU will qualify for Europe and that will be there downfall, squad he has isn’t nowhere good or big enough to play 3 games a week, they shall be in the bottom half of the PL hovering just above relegation and he could get sacked, I hope the latter, as I dislike the stoney faced twat.
WHU, bunch of ****s Gold, Sullivan, Brady, Moyes and 'fans' like James Corden and Russel Brand, taxpayer-funded stadium, boring to watch - they're almost as detestable as cheating Villa.
WHU a team that did the double over us this season and a team I want to smash next season. Circumstances beat us not Moyes
