Then we need to look at the conversion rates for shots on target, and big chances …

    Give me some time!

They don't seem to have any contacts within the club and are way off base a lot of the time.

in the box mate, thats where haaland comes alive.

Thats were mane isn't bothered to get and salah is glued to the wing.

    Our tactics suck arse.

I wouldn't even have mane starting

If you look back at a couple incidents in the last couple of games you will see mane just totally switch off and turn his back on play. For example phillips made an absolute howler against leeds that nearly gave a goal away but if you watch it back you will see mane dropping deep on the wrong side of the pitch laying it off then just turned his back on the ball to wander off. Not alive to anything

Against newcastle he did the same instead of pressing, literally turned his back on the newcastle defenders to jog back to halfway and a defensive position.

That tells me that his head is totally and utterly gone.

the echo just repeat what they hear.

If they are on the plane or whatever they will get a comment or two or if LFC want something to be known they will get a call. Otherwise its just recycling rubbish.

But do pay attention. when LFC want something known you will hear it that way.

He did have competition this year - Jota. And we haven't really seen much of an improvement. His regression isn't just from this year, it's far beyond that. On the flip side, Mane looks awful at the moment but I think it's more of a dip rather than a real regression based on the data.

Disregarding the hard stats on Bobby (goals and assists), his link up isn't even that good anymore. He constantly gives the ball away and that's just with simple passes, not high risk. He has looked decent in the no 10 role recently and that could be where we use him from now on.

I wouldn’t mind keeping Bobby but you have to be real. We can’t afford to keep players on, we literally have to sell to buy. At the same time, we can’t keep players longer than they need to be here. As the famous saying goes - let players age on someone else’s pitch.

This is why I DID have some sympathy towards the attackers because our tactics / set up led to literally 1 proper chance a game. It was no wonder we struggled to score goals. But over the past 2-3 games, it does feel like we have the underlying process back - we're creating chances at will but the actual conversion rate is terrible.

Bobby has been in decline for quite sometime now and is a luxury we can no longer afford.I've been keeping my eye on him for a while and he also gives the ball a way a lot.At one time he would have been first name on the sheet for me but I don't think he justifies his almost automatic selection every week.
Did we really capitalise in the transfer market after the CL,if ever there was a time to go and get players it was then I just fear the spending will be a pittance in terms of what we need.

And Jota has been injured for half the season, and most of the other half he’s either played out wide or as part of a 4. I don’t think he is proper competition for firmino tbh. He’s not a similar style player

there is a huge list of players I’d get rid of before him as well. Get rid of him and replace him then you still have issue of only having 4 players up top. 1 or 2 injuries and screwed again.

Also how much do you realistically think would get for him? Not been in best form, doesn’t score goals, 28/29 years old? In a certain style he is brilliant when on form, but he wouldn’t fit a lot of clubs as a number 9 so I don’t think you’d get more than 15/20m in this window

Issues with front 3 in general. All at their peak or going past it, so at their age do they want to be missing out on champions league football?

From Liverpool finances perspective, considering the above when would we look to sell them, if at all, prior to their value dropping?

Still don't think this summer will have too much activity due to finances

50+1 has it's advantages but it's not perfect. A friend of mine is a member of Schalke. He went to one AGM and that was enough. Problem is, with 250,000 members or whatever, that's a lot of people who can have a say. And fans don't always make the best owners. Sometimes you need to take the emotion out. So while something like the ESL may not pass the 50+1, Schalke's current sporting and financial disaster (even though they're propped up by Gazprom) is an example that it doesn't guarantee good sporting governance in general.

When was the last time we brought through a striker?

We have young talent coming through all over the place and no forwards? I think Jones could play the Firmino role. He still defers a lot to the more senior players. Once he gets the confidence to go for it himself, I think he could chip in with 5 or 6 goals a season. Has to play regularly obviously.

Oh yeah I completely agree that there are many others we'd get rid of before Bobby. But we do need to start succession planning (well we should have started way before! ) and having Bobby on the bench when he's earning £150k isn't the best financial decision.

As I say, I'm thinking with the business hat on now. He's an asset who is past it, doesn't really contribute to the team anymore, and is on big wages.

Brewster I guess, who's obviously been ripping it up this season.

Hopefully some time in the Championship will let him get some form back, for his sake.

It does diversify the power though which is what some fans want. I don't think there is a perfect system but things have to change. How? I have no idea.

Just to add, knowing that a super league type breakaway has been rumbling on for a good while, you might wonder why the PL hasn't already put in a specific rule addressing it or at least naming specifically the only competitions that it will allow participation in. Threatening expulsion for teams involved in creating or attempting to create another league would in effect actually create it. They know that they can't afford to lose the top 5 or 6 teams.

I think the current rules are purposely vague because then they can carry on with any punishment that they choose to dole out staying under their umbrella of "as we see fit" stance which in itself is made up as they go along.

As long as Sheff U have what it takes to stay in the Championship. :bandit: I feel sorry for Brewster. He thought he was going to a team that suited them both. He has an uphill struggle now to save his career.

if he did he obviously hadn't seen them play . I failed to see how it was a good choice in anything but financial terms as i was sure he wouldn't get many goals purely because they create so few chances though not sure anyone could have predicted the disaster it has become .
