We've played 2 games? Maybe 3, (I can't remember because the **** all rolls in to one) since Lee Johnson said his preferred formation is 3 in the middle of the park and 3 at the back... Can someone tell me how many times since then we've played that way? Or in fact how many times in total!!? Probably only need 1 hand for the total and not a single finger for the first question!
i never said he was owt else but to count that as an 'attempt' is honestly straw clutching at it's best mate. well, a better 2nd half mainly as it could not be any worse...i honestly wonder how the hell wyke has scored as many, if you are on the 6 yard line surely you can tell where the keeper is and manage not to hit the ball straight at him, unlucky with a couple of those saves though to be fair. couple of points summed this game up to me, one in particular, they were on a break and the player with the ball slipped and went flat on his arse with three of our players around him, he still got to his feet and kept the ball, hume when the ball came to him in the box yet he paused and looked for a pass rather than just leathering it, that 'almost' own goal you just know if it was us it would have gone in. in a list of 'most likely to turn on the team/manager' i would be very close to the bottom but even my patience is starting to wear a bit thin recently, i don't think there is another team in the world that can deflate you like ours.
No guarantee we'll get another point this season - both teams left to play in better form than us. Be a ****ing joke if we miss out on the play offs mind - even though we'd probably lose in the semis at the rate we're going.
That's what I was thinking mate. Finish 6th and pressure all off. All players are fit as they've done **** all last couple of weeks.
Still think we'll give the playoffs a good go. But so what if we don't go up this season? It means the new ownership, new set up, and Johnson will have had plenty of time to assess the job and a pre-season to set things up. Still absolutely buzzing with the way KLD is organising things and the people he's bringing in. It was always going to be a rebuilding job, instant success was always going to be unlikely. We will rise again, you just have to have patience.
I'd go with this for the next game Burge Gooch Younger Wright Almond Hume O'Nien Power Jones Wyke Diamond I don't care if Younger and Almond aren't ready to Johnson's satisfaction, as long as they aren't absolutely diabolical wastes of space they can have a crack at it and allow a formation I think we'd get more joy from. Some of the players I've dropped it's not because they're crap but because they're knackered or have run out of ideas completely. I know nothing of the sort will happen of course but putting the same team out when performances are consistently crap is a dangerous game.
Can't listen to our manager cos he's an absolute gobshite! What's been his excuse for the last few weeks of drudgery?
Despite being fully behind him still, I do think he needs to try something different now. And I'm not a fan of this 4222 thing.
Actually its not beyond the realms of possibility, IF he picks the right team. Apart from ours, the results have mainly gone our way to-night, but Blackpool must be wondering how they have done the double over us , and dreading meeting us again in the play-offs , and I joke not, while their is life, there is hope. OaU
The absolute scale of the complete collapse is a massive concern. Then when you look at it and think how many times we said ‘we played **** but got the result’ in the run the club cern grows. I’m not quite on a meltdown yet, but I’m canny ****ing warm.
Me neither, that's what seven games without a win now and some diabolical performances recently. We need to do something more than just playing Hume instead of McFadzean or whatever.
I would play the U23s. Probably would get beat but at least there would be some effort and commitment.
