I’ve backed Fam over the years, but his performances recently haven’t been good enough, ( in fairness , neither has many others), it’s now time to move on and replace him. Personally I will remember him for previous efforts , although I’m aware many won’t see past his recent poor performances.

I've always liked Fammy, form recently has been poor but he has always been a real nice gent and he honoured his contract, I hope he gets on with Warnock and sadly fails against us.

First touch lets him down IMO...defiantly has skill and can have quite an impact on a game................when he feels like it.....Must admit, I'm not a fan of a big centre forward nowadays.....others tend to lump it and hope for the best....Warnock will love him if it happens!!

Not sure about Gent...didn't he get a ban for spitting at another player a few years ago??

Nothing against him as a guy, everything against him as a striker at BS3! He can't trap the ball, he has little pace, he can't hold the ball up. We will concede less ground in the middle of the park once he's gone. He never gives the midfield a chance to get set as loses the ball virtually every time it's played up to him. I will say there are not many with a more powerful shot from 7-10 yards though.

I can see him doing well at Boro. All our players who fail miserably here do well once they leave BS3.
His first touch is still pure comedy (although hugely frustrating to watch) for a so called professional athlete, but good luck to him with Colin and co.

Well … at one time likely valued at more than double what we paid on a free any team that gets more than 15 goals from him have saved themselves £8-10m to replace him we would likely need to spend £8 -10m???

I doubt his value was ever as high as £8-10M? Also, we couldn't even get 15 goals a season from, let alone more. I don't believe he has it in him at this level.

    Not quite ALL Angelic:
Most of our 2008 Playoff final squad faded away. I think only Orr went (briefly) on to bigger and better things - even the great Basso faded into obscurity.
Maynard, Taylor, Pitman - there are quite a few for whom Bristol City was about as high as their careers ever got (apart from a few sub appearances in the Prem perhaps).
We hear more about the likes of Ayling, Freeman, Bryan, Reid etc because they HAVE gone on to better things (and they help feed the perpetual LJ debate), but I would say for every player who moves UP the footballing ladder after playing for us there are probably 10 or more who drop the other way.
With Fammy - I wouldn't say he failed miserably here. He's VERY frustrating and as many have pointed out, he gets lots of the footballing 'basics' wrong, but he's our (joint) top scorer in a very poor squad delivering little or no service. I personally think he'll do a bit better for Boro (if he plays) because his service will be better than he had here, but I can't see him setting the league alight.

This season the service to the strikers has been poor, I will admit. DH and now NP don’t really know their best 11 from who’s available and keep changing players and formations accordingly. We will never achieve consistency with that approach. Prior to this season I would argue it’s his lack of ability to take up natural strikers positions that mean he has never scored more than 13 goals in a season. I lost count of how many times last season Eliason put fantastic crosses into the box begging for a big dominant CF to bang in, yet Fammy was in the wrong place 7 out of 10 times

Fair point. I guess he will be seen as a replacement for Assombolonga at Boro if he goes at all ?

I agree, but personally if I had to choose between those 2 then I would choose Assombalonga, based on footballing usefulness alone. However, he may be a 'bad apple' and unhelpful in the dressing room - I simply don't know.

There has to be a reason why Colin don’t play him and is letting him go. After all he was rumoured in the January window into doing a deal with swapping them.
I find it strange as fans who rate Colin but then say Assombalonga is better than Diedhiou. There is not much in their goal scoring charts so if you rate Colins ability in the championship then you should equally wonder if there is a player in Diedhiou that we never utilised better.

never said that! at best he was maybe double what we paid ….. Any team looking for a 15 goal plus striker will be looking to pay £8 -10m [ look at us with Nahki!!!!] Fammy has about 3 or 4 years left .. mind you some of our ex strikers are still going strong at over 33 y o a
