...as he came off last night? As he came off LJ said a few words to him, and when he got past LJ Leads said something. If it was what i thought it was ( I only caught a glimpse) then it could indicate that the players are losing respect for LJ. Anyone else notice? I could be mistaken.

Didn’t notice but Grant was very complementary about the manager after the cup final. However after such a spectacular collapse you can’t help but wonder if all is well behind the scenes.

Amazes me how quick some fans are to get on the backs of players and managers at this club, We are where we are, in part, because of this attitude. This club is on the brink of becoming untenable to manage because of the caustic nature of some of our so called fans. We have literally been given a new lease of life by KLD, a whole new backroom staff and a sweeping new strategy and just because we lose a few games with the same below par squad LJ inherited, some have already decided he must be replaced. Yes, he has made some mistakes...who doesn't ...But we STILL have a chance to go up...a great chance. If you don't want to support the club, then p iss off and buy a Man City shirt as they seem to be doing well. The rest of us SAFC "true" fans will still be here long after these bleating idiots have left.

Lost count of how many times I and others have said similar. We are in the third division and Johnson inherited a squad which was looking like we’d be lucky to finish top half.

Not only did he turn the tanker around quickly, he got it going in the right direction. To a point where we were within touching distance of the top 2.

I wonder how many of our “so called” fans, if you’d said when Johnson took over, we’d look likely to be in the play offs, would’ve accepted that and laughed at you for even thinking it?

Very fickle bunch. I’m happy to let him get a proper crack at it with a ore season if we don’t go up.

Any need to be calling him a nonce like? Insults are one thing but that crosses a line imo, ****ing low as **** comment to make. Surprised @Wolfy hasn't been along and had a go at you for dishing out abuse like that as he's not a great fan of that kind of behaviour.

Johnson was very very confident of us being a different animal in they playoffs when he spoke in his pre Plymouth press conference. Once we have a rest and get the round pegs back in the round holes he said he doesnt fear anyone. I hope we go up this season but if we don't, the whole new regime have my full support. Exciting times ahead

Aye, it's all been a ploy, lost the last games on purpose lulling opposition teams into a false security then batter the fook out of them in the play offs :D

Is anyone really expecting him to say anything controversial or confrontational? Half our current problems are with a lack of that in the squad. The senior pros should be kicking arses to get this lot playing and demanding better but it's clearly not happening.

He probably said 'what we need is to bring Catts back 'cos Max just isn't a leader and we desperately need one'

Or at least that's what he should have said :emoticon-0105-wink:

I completely agree and have tried articulating this for years on forums but always ends up with "oh here we go, fans fault again "

A club culture can and is influenced by fans and at Sunderland its now become impossible to build anything at all.

We haven't won a Cup since 1973 and have not been anywhere near genuine top flight league success for a very very long time, so what's the point in hurrying to the destination called 'average' for another 30 years when with careful building and team work we might actually get to 'success'.

Why do the fans always get brought up as a reason for SAFCs failure? Frankly it pisses me right off!

For years managers claimed players struggled with our uncalled for high demands and a toxic crowd and a lot of people ran with that, press included. So what is it now that the SoL has been empty for 12 months? Players coming on here and RTG and having a good cry because they got called out for having a poor game or 2?

Absolute bullshit IMO and the sooner we all realise it is in fact the manager and his tactics or ****e players the better. How many clubs would kill for our numbers in the Premier League let alone League One!

The players and managers have absolutely no excuses now other than looking at themselves. The whole contract excuse is crap as well, stop worrying if you are and earn your next one here whether promoted or not because ATM theirs very few I'd keep even in L1 next season let alone if we do go up. Theirs no room for the weak minded in any profession, especially one that is constantly under the microscope.
