Real aren't all that, it's just that we are **** currently. I would also fancy Chelsea to beat City in the final more than Real.
I was thinking the same last night watching the game. Kroos and Modric were not given time to strut their stuff as Chelsea competed with them in midfield. Whereas our midfielders just stood off them and admired as they sprayed their passes at will. Klopp tactics failed that night and real looked like the best team in the world.
I was a bit disappointed in chelsea. I felt they had real on the ropes and then sat off and got even more conservative as the game went on. Yes I agree with you all on the above but I felt the same as i felt when i was watching them beat us. they only beat us 1-0 but could have cut us up. This tie could have been over last night in the first half but cheslea just seemed to get the opener and then didn't quite want to take any chances. Werner missed the sitter before pulisic scored so imo it would have been the same story even if werner put that one courtois saved away. As it stands all real need is a spawny goal and to sit off and defend it in the second leg.
no they didn't. we just looked awful. Real were poor enough but just over loaded trent and knocked a few long balls west brom style. both lead goals were as a result of rank defending from us and keita not bothering his arse. We played with 10men for 40mins. We "drew" the rest of the tie. When i say drew i should say we scored and then real decided to wake up and could easily take the 2 goal lead back then they sat off and stays sitting off for 90mins at anfield laughing at our inept forwards. It was SO easy for real and yet with a tiny bit of competence we could easily have scored 2 at anfield.
Just watching city struggle v psg currently. Foden gets played into a great position and he takes a touch then fires a poor shot high and easy to save. city can't get near thier goal despite having good possession figures but psg are all over city's goal. City have no striker as per. City are in trouble here and imo need an away goal. If PSG score another it could be tie over. Neymar's antics are hilarous. He's faked an elbow injury. no PSG medic bothered their hole getting out to him and after getting all the sympathy he's straight in the pen area throwing himself down hoping the ref buys that ctiy are targeting him. PSG's passing is crisp, first touch often, always precise and its really cutting. City need to hang on in until they tire. PSG's press is very intense.
Yes, very high quality and guardiola has certainly made his voice heard at half time. Tactically much better now from city
Said I think this is going to be Man City's year in the CL. They could match our treble (league, league cup & European Cup) but at least they can't set a new record and get the quad now
It was an awful wall but that's two set piece goals making the game. Massive result but city need to learn the lesson for the second leg now. City v Chelsea final certain is on.
They're gonna ****in win it, aren't they? PSG completely bottled it last night. I bet they thought they could just stroll out in the second half and it would be more of the same because in the first half City were crap, but they got their eyes wiped and that's the difference between City and us. Compare them to us. We're nowhere near their standard
Only saw the highlights but what I saw was de bruyne score from a cross that keeper missed, then mahrez hit a **** free kick which a league 1 defence woukdnt have conceded from as they’d stand in a proper wall. other than foden hitting one right at keeper, didn’t see city create much else?
Two real defenses. PSG only scored of a second touch off a corner Yes gundogan let the guy go but the all in wasnt that good
