The policies, the arrogance and the 'we know what's best for you' sneering, the headlong charge towards US style if you don't agree with us you're evil politics. If you banned political parties from mentioning the opposition, Labour in particular wouldn't be able to campaign.
They'd run out of things to say, but not as quickly as Starmer and co. Labour have forgotten that opposition is presenting a credible alternative, not just whinging about the government.
There is 1000s of people would love to not vote Tory so you look at the alternative and seriously are you kidding, winging about spending £50 grand on a flat builders pay that in parking fines in London while they are renovating a property and that’s all Starmers got.
Neither of them get it right (or wrong) 100% of the time. They're there to serve the public so what's the point in blindly picking sides? Surely its better to give one of them a go for a bit and then give the other one a go for a bit. Or choosing one based on the circumstances at the time, not based on what "class" you consider yourself to be (a completely outdated concept). People just want to make pantomime villains of them and prove that 'their' side is right. Just seems childish to me.
Only when there is a general election do they have to present a credible alternative. As "Her majesty's opposition" their job is EXACTLY to pull the incumbent Government up on issues such as cronyism, sleaze, chumocracy, and bodies piling up on the streets. In fact I would go as far as saying if the opposition did not call the government to account for the above issues I would suggest the opposition should be called to account for neglect themselves.
I've never understood why when asked "Why did you vote for (Insert Party)", some people reply "Because my family have always voted for them". Haven't these people got a mind of their own? That's what Democracy is about. I tend to vote as I see it, rather than just doing the same thing because I've always done so in the past. I was a Labour party member 30 odd years ago, but I haven't always voted Labour since. I suppose I've become a typical floating voter.
That's very true. There are two things that politicians do 1) Never fully answer the question that's put to them 2) Slag the opposition off instead of telling potential voters what they would do.
The question that has been asked is who paid for it and why, might not be your concern, but it is important as this is a drop in the ocean as far as Government spending goes and it is just possible that whoever paid for his lovers extravagance might just want something in return that would make your eyes water.
then by that theory Sadick Khan has a lot to answer for, in fact in the last 8 months i remember at least 5 Labour politicians having done similar or worse and those were outright thefts, strange how all those indiscretions are forgotten, this is not directed at you mate, but when it's the Labour party in the **** all if forgiven. Also this goes nowhere near to what the SNP have lost? stolen in Scotland. We have all seen these threads on here before, never seeing eye to eye, and gradually descending to verbal abuse. At least now its a Gentleman's conversation at last time to move on though
nowt like a good back scuttle for you, when the government are paying for it, stand by for the back doors being smashed in
As one of his teachers at Eton in a school report once wrote "Boris thinks rules apply to everyone else but not to him"
