Not replacing key players and disproportionate injuries may I suggest has been self inflicted, because SL took his eye off of the ball and allowed one of his poodles to make to have far too much power and make incredibly unwise decisions and practice an unbelievable amount of cronyism.

That is hopefully about to change but it won't be a 5 minute job.

Agree , but these days players have the power, if a PL comes knocking it’s counterproductive to stop the move, unlike old days when we turned down moves for Gow, Merrick , Ritchie etc we can’t do that now.

We need a rebuild,DH doesn’t have the skill set to achieve that, as well as he did he took us as far as he could , he shouldn’t have been given the job in the first place

Correct but if you read the recent Gerry Gow book you will see that it was actually the players that turned down the moves, incredibly BCFC in those 4 heady 1st division years was a big payer, Joe Royle confirmed that and Peter Cormack said that after joining us from Liverpool his wages went up significantly.

I’m pretty sure they tried to buy them whilst we were still in the second division,,during our promotion year, bearing in mind they could offer anytime, there weren’t transfer windows

Arsenal tried to sign Merrick and Ritchie during the summer after our promotion.

Hang on......SL has just appointed a top manager here for 3 years, NP has accepted that appointment.....he knows full well what he's got to work with and I imagine he's signed knowing the backing he will get and will back his own confidence in his ability to get further than mid-table......either that or he's playing us...
He's had a few months head start, getting to know the setup, how the club works, what players we have......IMO no excuses.....don't give a monkey's if I'm one of the minority, doesn't mean my opinion is wrong....and it doesn't mean you're right.
SL has not appointed the likeof Nigel Pearson for a mid-table finish or to avoid relegation...

Your problem is unlike the vast majority you think that it's going to be an easy job to sort out the disarray on the playing side of the club that he has inherited, that is why he has got 3 years and not 2 or a 1 year roll over contract.

You don't even accept that only winning 30 games out of the last 90 is a problem, you think that a few quality signings will be the magic formula, again the vast majority of fans see it differently, like for me I wouldn't expect at least 6 of last Sundays starters to be involved next season.

But i'm sure you are correct again it will be a very simple process, we will see one way or the other.

Supposed to be a top manager.......it's why he was appointed.....if we end up having a relegation battle next season.....he won't get 3 years....or 2.....but don't worry about my opinion.....you latch on to the rest................

Not surprisingly we pay bigger money imho.
We have to persuade decent players NOT to go to top teams like Man U or Liverpool.

He's a manager, not a fecking miracle worker.

Only 3 of the 14 out of contract players started on Sunday, I am fully expecting only a maximum of 5 of those 14 to be offered contracts (maybe even less) I am expecting that anything between 1 to 5 of in contract players to be offered for transfer, that is around half of the squad gone, even Pep would struggle under those circumstances, having to bed youngsters and new players in,

But again I am sure you are right.

14 players (or there about) OOC, a similar number injured, or coming back from injury , and all the upheaval behind the scenes with Ashton, Rolls etc and you expect top 6 minimum next season, that’s unrealistic

After all of this turmoil and crap we have all suffered in the past 12 months I'm looking forward to a pre season of positivity, change and development, Ashton and his motley crew have all been cleared out, the OOC mob should have been extracted, injuries should have been cleared and NP has been here long enough to identify the players and staff he wants out, in other words the players he has inherited from LJ, DH and MA and not up to his required standards should have been moved on, he will have had time to prepare his strategy, bring in replacement players and be prepared for the new season.

It would be great to fly into a top 6 place or even achieve promotion next season but anybody with a modicum knows that is not a probability, I would still expect a top 10 place and would be satisfied with that, better football, more resilience in the squad and wouldn't it be nice to have some super heroes, roll on next season when we can all get back to being City fans together.

Every single season, there is a list of excuses......other clubs go through similar.....we now have a top manager in place..I imagine NP & SL have agreed the backing he will get...we have a full 3 months plus to prepare and NP has had time to work out what's required and how every things setup at the club..I don't think that's unrealistic at all.....the fact that Ashton & Rolls are going has to be an advantage surely......unlike previous managers, I imagine he will have a big say on the operation going forward.....Top half would be minimum with the chance of a playoff place for me..

Fans think mid table will be a result next year because of the appalling squad left by Johnson.

Be prepared to be disappointed, is all I can say , of course Ashton and Rolls going will be a bonus once they are replaced, but again will need time. I’m afraid it’s going to take time. We are pretty much back to where we were when LJ was appointed. Hopefully with the quality of manager we have now, unlike LJ, this time we’ll be successful, but it’s unlikely to be achieved next season. The season after I would suggest a the earliest we’ll be in a position to hope for top six.

Can you name all these appalling squad left by LJ? I will start you off with Jack Hunt. Now it’s your turn but none of this only Kalas Bentley typical answer.

Ain't that the truth and the excuse record holder is LJ and his luvvies.

LJ did what he did and I am grateful for that.

Pearson is not a miracle worker, some of the crap he inherited are still under contract.
