No I think it's more that McGovern is actually the new Captain Canary and is needed to be back0up keeper and mascot as a cost cutting exercise
This from an Arsenal site sums up the situation regarding Buendia and others: “Arsenal like Buendia and we reported about their interest as early as last December. However, with Norwich’s imminent promotion to the Premier League I would expect him to stay unless a good offer comes in." The situation is similar to that of Grealish when Villa went up - many rumours back then, but no movement. Arsenal has indicated interest in Emi in the past, but they've also indicated that they don't want to pay £40m for him.
Will we see a better version of Norwich than the team relegated with a whimper last summer? “Yes, for sure,” Buendía says. “I always said that the experience in this squad means a lot and now with this team and these players, we have played a few years together so everyone knows everyone and more players have played before in the Premier League. This is very good. I think the structure and the project, looking forward it will be good to do it properly next year. It is important to get this experience to do it better next time.” This sounds positively positive https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ssi-spain-or-argentina-norwich-premier-league
Anyone else as "confident" as Daniel? https://www.skysports.com/football/...-at-club-after-securing-premier-league-return
Moreso than I would be without Covid effects. I think he might fancy another season with Pukki then we can ask for £60 million next year
And here's DF on Vrančić and Tettey: “There's no pressure to do it tomorrow. With all the contracts that run out, and also the loan contracts, then it will be days not weeks,” he said. “Perhaps with the exception of a player like Oliver Skipp and his situation. I am pretty sure that lasts a while. But you can see the decisions we have already made with Ben Gibson and Dimitris Giannoulis for next season and now we have to make decisions with Alex and Mario. We must speak in a trustworthy way, find a solution and once it is confirmed we can speak publicly about this. It won’t be five or six weeks. There were some talks over the last days but the first decision we had to make was Michael’s contract. Once the dust has settled after promotion we have to make sure that we are on the one page, in terms of talks and communication.” Talks ongoing then.
If this were a non Covid season then no. Don't think the money is out there to release him from what is no doubt a Webber proof contract
Totally agree with this. The Super League fiasco showed the desperation of the big 6 teams after overspending for years. I doubt that any of them would find it easy to come up with £40m for Emi.
If Norwich were taken over by a corrupt foreign family like some others I could mention I would probably stop supporting them and follow Kings Lynn or Bury Town . I don't think The Glazers Venkies or pozzos for example are worthy of the support from their fans.
I agree with your sentiment but surely the fans are the source of the problem. Run a poll amongst Newcastle fans as to whether they want Ashley to sell out to somebody who hasn't got millions to spend but wants a self funding project like Norwich or a foreign billionaire promising to inject a transfer fund of £200m into the Club and you know what the answer would be even though they know that promises are not always kept. Fan pressure got rid of good local owners at Coventry and Portsmouth, for example, when big promising suitors came calling and look where they ended up. Are our friends down the road better off now than when they were run by the Cobbolds? The ' Delia out ' brigade are only resting - they haven't gone away!
Not so much a rumour, but I wonder whether Mumbai’s minutes on the pitch v Reading were a sign of Aarons’ movements this summer.
Can't have been much room left after Mumbai came on. Seriously, I think it was just giving time to other players once the lead was certain, though I do think there's a good chance Max will move on this summer.
We have the best right hand side with Max and Emi in the EFL and probably half of the EPL easily over £70m combined .
