Palace (and Fulham) have been confirmed: https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/...mier-league-southampton-fulham-crystal-palace
It's not exactly difficult to imagine us losing to Leicester and Liverpool, and Fulham losing to Chelsea. So at the start of that now-rearranged penultimate week, the gap between us two would still be nine points. Both with four to play. Fulham taking on Burnley the day before we take on Palace, ahead of the match between both of us. We should just need one of those three matches to go our way. But if the first two are wins for Fulham and Palace, then things get a little tasty going into that third match.
Brighton going above us for the moment then. If Levy was actually smart, he'd be taking a look at Potter. Could do a whole lot worse.
Proper 5-way battle from 13th and 17th. Good for us all, but a shame for the neutral, that 17th is a meaningless position rather than relegation.
Welbeck doing well for Brighton. Lot of people were dead against us signing him at the start of the season.
SO then. Fulham have 4 games left and are 10 points behind us. They play Burnley, us, Man Utd and Newcastle. We need to lose our remaining 5 games and they need to get 3 wins and a draw to overtake us by virtue of goal difference. It's not over until the fat lady sings, but shes walking out on stage. That is also assuming that Burnley and Newcastle pick up a couple of points and overtake us too.
Fulham's strategy of loaning in a whole new team (seven loanees in total) is useful for coping with relegation - means they haven't wasted millions on players, many of whom have no intention of playing in the Championship - but it's a disastrous strategy for trying to avoid relegation in the first place.
Norwich and Fulham are the poster boys for not avoiding relegation. There is good money in the yoyo model!
Micah Richards on MOTD tonight ... glad he's on, haven't seen him on a football related show for ages.
I like him though but he does seem to be everywhere like Alex Scott a few months ago. All gbetter than Carney though!
Also, I imagine once relegated the players who have been sidelined this year may take unbridge that they are now back in the team but not deemed good enough for the step up and question if they would get a chance if promoted again.
Yep. There's about 8 to 10 of them who, aside from Fulham's first two or three games of the season (before Fulham recruited their new faces), have barely kicked a ball since promotion. 1 or 2 is normal. But not almost an entire XI.
