I’m not sure some of you think this warrants a thread if it’s own but I think this kid does for the following reasons . In my opinion he’s the most naturally balanced footballer we’ve seen here in a long time - home grown or not
He’s very brave see his headers
When he stretches his legs at pace he has a great stride and he can move either way
He’s has one really good foot and an improving weaker one
He can pick a pass he’s unselfish Wilks ought to note that!
But quite honestly when you add this up he he can become a seriously good player - another 1/2 stone and some better defensive positioning
A bit more shooting strength and practise would help
I’ve said this before I’m not a formations man but do study players balance , movement heart ability to turn etc he’s got it all
You have to love Docherty also but for very different reasons and different skills

The lads got massive potential. If he continues to improve in the Championship and scores goals those Premiership vultures will soon start circling.

    Think Bowen...

He certainly has all the tools in place to do some damage in the championship then as others have said it'll be a battle royal to hold onto him.

Always great to see young talent at the club. Even more so when they are local.

You missed one important point, as the ball comes down from the sky he stops it stone dead on his foot, brilliant control

KLP is getting better and better. He has great movement, and his decision making is much better than Wilk's. He could turn out to be even better than Jarrod Bowen.

P.S. I wish he would change his hairstyle.

Putting aside the nonsense mid-season where he was unable to be on the pitch for significant periods of games - a nonsense which undoubtedly impacted on his development - he has had a highly impressive breakthrough season. (mainly because he's won me about 200 notes with his goalscoring exploits).

For someone who has just turned 20 his game is fairly mature and he appears to be focused on learning how to become better. His key attributes, in my opinion, are his speed, his ball control, his goalscorers awareness in the box and his unselfish creativity. He's got something, call it a spark, a flash of brilliance, a 'footballing brain', that you only really see in top players.

He appears to be fiesty too, although this is something that he needs to learn to control and use appropriately.

I agree with a comment already made that he needs to bulk up a bit and work on his strength.

Others have a part to play as well. Coyle mentioned a while ago how he tries to bring KLP into the game with long crossfield passes. Others need to make more and quicker use of him if he stays wide left, as well.

I think he'll go all the way (hopefully with us). He really is that good a player.

Glad you all agree although I hated him as a player especially when we lost at Man Utd as me he committed two fouls in about two minutes and don’t get booked, He reminds me so much of Rooney . He is hard to knock offs the ball for a young smallish player I honestly feel with the right coach right team he could be really special ... but not for at least another year and if we don’t go up an awful lot of money !

Sorry boys way way over the top. he might go on to do well but it’s too early to say.
relegation has helped him a lot playing in an easier league.

Rooney was scoring goals in the PL at 16 and went to Man U at 19.
    They’re nowhere near alike

some players will step up on the championship and some won’t.

    can’t wait to find out.

Rooney had already had years of premiership coaching , KLP will be behind on that but like you I really hope he develops and I can’t wait to find out too.

It’s nothing to do with coaching with a Rooney otherwise all the other players in his age group at Everton would have been playing first team.

On that basis then all our other young players would be in this team - I take your point though it’s about talent skill and a host of other ingredients - many of which KLP has
Bowen worked hard , was or became very strong , hips down . He was pretty quick had decent ball control a great temperament , worked hard on his weaknesses and developed a good ground shot with short back lift and shot early - like Kane but.
KLP in my opinion has way more ‘ natural ‘ balance touch and control - these are rare . befor anyone decides he’s my love child which is often the way these posts go , I’ve watched since 62 seen great good average and useless and whilst no expert notice the differences I would like to think . I really would hate to be disappointed and not see him develop so I wish him well . He’s good to watch

KLP is something special but he needs to beef up his upper body strength over the summer, as Jarrod Bowen did.
With a couple astute additions this squad has nothing to fear in the Championship. It might also just persuade any potential buyers out there who are dithering about handing a cheque over if our membership fan base was hovering around the 15,000 mark now.
