oh, well read back. I reckon heads will roll or should roll at sky over this.

I am fairly sure neville has managed to stoke the thing up further and there's stuff going down right now at the utd hotel.

Just seeing some of the footage around OT. I'd call them animals but the police horses are showing them up

    man utd statement

Following discussion between the Police, The Premier League, Trafford Council and the clubs, our match against Liverpool has been postponed due to safety and security considerations around the protest today. Discussions will now take place with the Premier League on a revised date for the fixture.

Our fans are passionate about Manchester United, and we completely acknowledge the right to free expression and peaceful protest.

However, we regret the disruption to the team and actions which put other fans, staff, and the police in danger. We thank the police for their support and will assist them in any subsequent investigations.

    lfc statement

Liverpool Football Club was in full agreement with the decision to postpone today’s fixture as a result of ongoing events at Old Trafford and the surrounding area.

It is our position that public safety must be the number one factor in any such decision, with the ability to provide a secure environment for the participants, staff and officials being a particular priority.

It was clearly not possible for this to be guaranteed today due to a situation which escalated rapidly.

We will continue to have dialogue with Manchester United, the Premier League and the local authorities to find a suitable date to reschedule.

As soon as we have this information we will update our supporters accordingly.

remember when sky nailed keyes and gray? got them on a sexist comment to get right.

I would be shocked if neville and carragher are not out on their ear as they are back at it again.

Honestly City have already won the title. Why would they want to do all this just to delay it ? I don’t think that’s the reason.

I think that’s probably going over the top. It looks like it was a small minority taking it too far but calling them animals is rather extreme IMO.

So what have they been saying that is so objectionable? Apart from being 10 years too late maybe. The game has sold out to the money men.

In the end you have the usual types around. when you watched the riots in the us capitol grounds there were plenty of onlookers and celebrators who were older and both male and female. You can see the same outside the ground with a few grannies and older men one of whom looks to have got trampled.

most that invaded were young, men and teenagers following them. Chancers with flares and beer cans. they've have a few but maybe 10%? of those in the ground that went to do damage, throw flares and invade the dressing rooms and do damage.

you have others trying to block public roads and bang on cars and cause trouble.

How neville can say its peaceful yet know a police officer got hit over the head i don't know.

Neville was all fine when he needed an in for press work and all of that nor was he ever objecting when the game was sold out as he profited.

that aside he has double and trebled down that these actions are right and proper and others should join them.

He'd been given every chance by sky to put his foot in it and asked several times about it being illegal etc and he's actually told the guy to stop interrupting him.

I was hoping nobody got hurt at least but apparently some have.

It is clear that you cannot ever condone illegal activity of any sort. That simple but Neville has been applauding it, demanding more of it.

I doubt that he's been advocating violence or illegal activity; he's not that stupid. People have a right to protest (until Boris removes it) but as always a few take it too far.
    What else can people do?

Protest peacefully without trespass or criminal damage to property and not be a public nuisance to people going about their own business?

If you are going to organise it, then organise it properly with the required notice the police to ensure order.

I note that the guys that threw that statue in the river ended up on charges in criminal court and guess what? changed nothing.

In two or three days time we will hear about a few arrests here where people who did damage assaulted someone get done for it. May utd will get brave and life ban a couple if they actually are match goers.

I would agree with discussion above that the only really way to hurt the glaziers is in their pockets.

What does come to mind about the "theres always one idiot" argument is this guy https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-fan-who-pushed-man-17796039 he was tolerated for a long while then ends up dragging the clubs name through the mud and used against us. he should have been on a list years before and now able to travel to madrid but did and then thats the stick to beat us with.

There's always one is not an excuse if someone had actually got a serious head injury. No judge will accept that.

the pity is i would say about 50% of those in old trafford looked very young

Nevilles getting on my tits a bit recently. Used to think was decent as a pundit but over this whole super league stuff hes used terms like murder, assault, famine... not sure they are the right terms to be using about a football club

Actually... all effective protest has a hint of illegality to it... if its organised, with self stewarding, its all good.

The idea that fans of the six clubs could stop games being played and so televised could be the most effective thing they could do.... the only danger as shown today is any hint of violence... moment that happens... its done... especially in the UK where authorities love to portray fans as animals...

In defence on one point of Carra... I think Souness angered him by focusing on that one idiot and painting them all by his actions....

It wouldn't be because he has a vested interest in a lower league club... would it?

The fact that these lower league clubs (and the majority of the English league system) is relying heavily on the PL (which in turn relies on the 6) for hand outs and to keep the whole system going is rather worrying.
I mean where would Norwich and the like be without the constant parachute payments the keep getting. An idea I can't stand, imo you get relegated you deal with the consquences.
