But not THE most recent survey. Two of which showed a single point lead.

Early Britons were black “before these isles were British”, BBC children’s series Horrible Histories will tell its younger viewers in its first ever episode dedicated to black history.
To demonstrate Britain has had a black population “from the start”, the opening sketch will outline how African troops manned Hadrian’s Wall in the 3rd century AD.

My understanding is that the foreign Romans up there were mainly Iranian. , but that aside, who did they invade, and who were they defending against exactly?

I think Horrible Histories might be a bit too complicated for you to get tbh. It literally says in the article you just posted why you're wrong.

Ah, I was close. They were Iraqi, assuming the Graniad got it right. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

When Iraqi peacekeepers stood guard at Hadrian's Wall

A unit of Iraqis, probably from the Basra region, formed part of the Roman troops defending the empire from incursions at its northernmost border, Hadrian's Wall.

A Roman document from about AD400 called the Notitia Dignitatum - a list of all the military and civil posts of the empire - refers to an irregular unit of "bargemen from the Tigris", based at Arbeia, the fort nearest modern South Shields.

I said to the woman sat in front of me on the bus, "You have some semen on the back of your jacket."

"I'm sure it's not semen," she said, "It's probably yoghurt." "It's definitely semen," I said, "I don't ejaculate yoghurt."

    Crazy Lefties...

The road sweepers coming around on a Sunday on a Bank Holiday weekend... that must be double time. They do not normally do that, but the deputy Marxist at Hull City Council is up for re-election on Thursday.

Those plonkers who parked on double yellow lines in the city centre thinking there would be no parking enforcement officers on a bank holiday weekend will not be voting for the Marxist after they have paid their parking tickets.

Surely it will be triple time on Monday, so I wonder what Council services will be in action...

Keeping Hull clean is a losing battle.

Fair play to those brave cleaners, for giving up their day off.

Other way round I think, she’s likely what we refer to as “coin operated”.

I hope the good people of Hull are out on the streets armed with sticks and whatever they can lay their hands on ready to storm city hall. Assuming it’s a city.

If the last election results are anything to go by, he's going nowhere. There's liable to be too many alternative candidates sharing the protest votes in his ward.

How is this great news exactly?
No matter what side of the political divide you’re on, you need effective government which comes from strong opposition. Being able to push through any legislation due to a large majority is not in the best interests of the electorate or country.

Because to a simpleton like him, politics are just like a football match. He gets excited about being a 'winner', even if it ****s the country up. Very ****ish behaviour, but not surprised tbh coming from him.
