I'm not interested in a motor home, this would be something that I would stay in overnight occasionally other than 2, 3 or more nights in a row.
Just click in the two links i just sent you mate. You'll find some thing up your street. The 2nd one they build to whatever spec you ask them.
I'm planning it properly and will go have a good look over them and maybe hire one out before taking the plunge.
Yeah that’s what I would do. Wait until those who have bought one on a whim decide they hate the idea and put it up for sale. Wait until January, when the the weather is ****, folk are spent out after Christmas and you should be able to score a decent one.
Wise move. I love the lifestyle and I’ve had a few from an old T2 bay window camper, T3 and T4 panel vans and a T5 shuttle. Nothing like picking your spot for the night, getting cozy in the van, getting a brew on and watching the sunset. But it’s not everybody’s cuppa and like Gessa says, there should be a glut in the market next year when those who’ve rushed to buy them last year and this decide they ****in hate camping
Ideally it's going to be in 18 months-ish time so that might work brilliantly and it gives me plenty of time to do my homework. Going to go bespoke or keep looking for one that really meets our needs.
Yeah, they're in Bynea. Mate of mine from work had one done, they do a tip top job. They find you the van in the first place, then essentially do what ever you ask. They won't add the Covid tax either. I like those ones in Mendip as well. The seats fold down as the bed and there's a pull out fridge and cooking ring/sink in storage pods that pull out from underneath. Ideal for just deciding you're going to stay over somewhere the night. Proper day van.
That's exactly what it'll be for, overnight stay in an Aire or just stopping somewhere for the day things like that. I'll still be using hotels as well. I'll be tapping you up for Aire knowledge sometime in the future.
On the T5 platform it was only the Kombi and Shuttle vans that had AC. The rest are based on commercial platforms for builders lobbing tins of paint and bags of cement in the back. So they came really low specced.
Yeah unbearable on a hot day. Also AC helps to keep the windows from misting up and it generally keeps the cabin much more comfortable Lots of folk think it’s just for cooling, but AC dries the air first and then either heats or cools it, so it also stops condensation and mold from forming
