Won’t be getting a pass but will be back for matches. Live footy. Can’t wait.

I'm similar to you, I've never had a membership and I have no intention of ever having one, I want to be able to pay for my football in a oner; if season passes return I might buy one if I can fall back in love with football - until then I'll pick and choose matches to attend. Personally, I prefer matches away from the KC - you're usually stood with a better class of supporter i.e. not the hysterical, whining 'brought-up-on-MOTD' twats who rant at every misplaced pass. As I've gotten older I have no patience with 'fans' of that ilk, that and I'm really getting too old for confrontation!

I’m carrying on paying into the club and have done ‘i’ follow every time and enjoyed it . Once I started couldn’t not watch ,
it was too easy on a Tuesday night and Saturday afternoon.
As an ex city player said to me ‘ if you are a fan you are a fan whatever the owners do ‘ so you should support the team . I know that isn’t others viewpoint but after seeing everything in my 57 years watching it’s that bit in your gut that makes you go - the bit you can’t explain to those who’ve asked why . Especially in the 80’ s when the rugby was on the up . Never forgiven Hull fans for being at that match and supporting the opposition . I have a long memory for those who treat others badly . Been on some interesting trips on buses , in vans including a bread van in the 70’s wouldn’t trade any of it for sanitised sit down attitude of can’t be bothered people . There’s about 6 of us all stand together and always have done - despite all the things over the last twenty years that have spoilt football . I’ve come close to deserting football but this club and this city are in my bones and I will back them both to the hilt
    That’s that offloaded phew UTT

I’ve missed live football, but I haven’t missed being tied to a membership card and feeling obligated to attend every single home game (only missed about 10 home games in the last 20 odd years) Probably just going to do the odd away game now. My mind may change, but that’s how I feel right now.

I sort of understand trouble is non fans who buy clubs don’t have the gut feeling true fans do . They see us us membership people like cinema goers and that it will open up the doors to casuals . There’s the rub casuals are not enough in number because they won’t make sure they have money for the game like I and fans who feel it would .
Problem for the Man Utd’s of this world is that the 70k who might pay to watch n. Saturday are dwarfed by the x millions worldwide who can pay maybe £5-10 to watch on tv and then there’s the gambling
So those owners don’t need physical presence any more that’s not a by product , sorry , problem . Maybe I’ll be gone by the time it really loses what it had when I was growing up

I heard a story about some City fans in the 70s, stealing a bakers van at an away game and driving it back to Hull.
Set of scallywags. Always thought it was BS, but it might be true.
Nearly as good as the Scotland fans, in London, who asked a bloke to drive them to Wembley in his furniture van. Tube was on strike. He said, no problem, charged them all £20 each. They got in. He locked them inside. Thing was it wasn't his furniture van.

There's your problem. I never bothered with that bit. It just always looks so over-rated. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The true story is that my mates cousin was converting a Newbould bread van . We always went to the first and last away matches of the season. We set off for Palace about 7of us at 7in the morning
It only did about 35 mph!! Got to the ground about five to three . Place had slipped into the 2nd div and we beat them 1-0 I think also maybe Tom Wilson’s n scored may be wrong
We got surrounded by Place fans for a good kicking after the match with two coppers who wanted to go! In the nick of time the stuff vet turned up , he’d fallen asleep hadn’t gone to the game. We piled across road into the van - it had no rear door ! I think the cockneys couldn’t believe and think they applauded
Got home after midnight frozen stiff it had no heating and it was cold like now . It also guzzled petrol so we all ended up skint
Ah the lads from Hessle , many like me still going

Then there's the Sunderland fans who took the sofa out of a chinese takeaway on the way back from a match in London. I must have been talking to one of them at some point in time.

You don't get days like that on pay per view.

I remember going to the Blyth Spartans replay at Elland Rd on train .
Some lads had ripped out one of the seats and where trying to squeze it out of the top windows .
The Guard collared them and took them down the train .
Not sure if he kicked them off at the next station .

Could have been Dennis Burnett! I think Tom scored at Villa when we drew once around the same era
By the way don’t understand the reply to ‘there’s your problem ‘ maybe being tick is the issue
You can tell it’s pissing down outside otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered

Didn’t realise you were taking the register...

I will be there next season, but then I always was going to be anyway...so not news

I do feel slightly done out of going this season though...it would have been superb.

Remember some lads from cottingham going away to a London match in a builders low loader truck covered with tarpaulin. Hell of a journey when you consider the height was 3 foot.

Although I’ve kept going I’m just fractionally over the ‘stayed going’ line from where you are, because otherwise what you’ve described is exactly my thoughts.

Part of me is disappointed we’ve gone up to be honest.

I think someone should come up with a league with no promotion or relegation aimed for teams who don’t give a ****.
