Sounds like the person who wrote that was inspired by the writer/poet Max Ehrmann ("Desiderata")

We had too, a great big square concrete shelter. Dad was a barge captain and always painting so he painted our name above the door. People I remember down Welwyn Park Avenue and Road were the Chinnerys, Gartons, Croziers and Wilmots. We has an Anderson shelter in Sculcoates Lane.

Ours was too, I remember my father and some workmates knocking it down one weekend. The top was reinforced concrete with brick sides, the top took an age to break up.

with the arrival of jacob greaves in the city team, i've been wondering about other city players that were related. i'm aware that we had brothers george, andrew, and tommy browell. also andy and david davidson. and i've found more brothes - harry and ellis hall, sam and jack lyon by sorting the oncloudseven list.

are there any others? is there another father-son combo apart from the greaveses? any cousins or other relatives with different surnames?

    cheers

The Barmbys - Jeff, never did play for City, but his son Nick and grandson Jack (briefly as a youth) did.

cheers. i suppose steve and alex bruce ought to get a mention too. there's no complete record of games that don't involve the first team, so that makes exhaustive investigation of those that didn't feature for thr first team (or, at least, make the bench) impossible.

The only other father/son combination to have both played senior games for City is Pat and Jamie Heard.
