Just had a look at the table and a few of the other teams’ fixtures. I’d be in favour of Oxford usurping Portsmouth to 6th tbh. Blackpool have 2 relatively easy home games so I can very much see them finishing 3rd which means we will be up against Lincoln in the semi finals. You just can’t call who will go up though, there isn’t an outstanding team at all. Exciting for the neutral but not great if your team is taking part.
It feels like we might have turned a corner on Saturday. We were still shaky at the back, but that is to be expected with the injuries we have. We controlled the game and could (should) have been out of sight by half time. Let's do the same to Northampton on Sunday and go into these bastard play offs with a shred of confidence. Let's hope Sat was the start of another "Streaky Lee Streak" and we win the 4 I agree with your point on the strength of our squad next season, but **** me, it'd be nice if we snuck in to The Championship whilst doing so... Be interesting if we get Blackpool and Johnson decides to play Embleton against them (Pretty sure loans only run to the end of the normal season and a club has to give special permission for an extension)
Embo couldn't play for us if we recall him. LJ said the other day the cut off was some time in March to call him back and re-register him back with SAFC. He's considering recalling him anyway though which will only weaken Blackpool and I wouldn't be against that. Bit **** for him and Blackpool if they get to Wembley but if they play us in Semis and we win he wouldn't have played anyway...
Ah,. That's annoying - assumed he would be in the squad regardless. Shame, but if it weakens Blackpool in anyway then that's good enough for me
Shows what a pigs ear was made of things, the fact one of the best players of the leagues in form team and one of our main rivals is our own players. Surely considering the run we have been on he would have been an improvement
Lincoln and Blackpool have a game in hand on us and the final games are next Sunday, so we could end up, 3rd , 4th or 5th. So we will not know who our opponents will be until after Sunday, or whether we play the 1st or 2nd leg home or away. All we have to do is win a best if two legs and win the final... Am I feeling confident
A form of arrogance from Johnson - he didn't think Embleton would get into his team, nor did he consider Blackpool a threat. Wrong on both accounts Still, at least we've had the pleasure of watching Josh Scowen start almost every game
Ok I misunderstood. Yet the triumph of hope over reality is almost the definition of a football fan, so I can understand radgy moaning far more than a 25 year old without any belief in the future of SAFC. Especially when we are in the best position ownership-wise since Murray (the only Bob who knaas!). Still, even without football, at 25 the world must have been a ****ty place for the last year or so. God knows what the bairn's mental health is like. Brexit, Covid and Climate must all seem a bit much for someone who has supported SAFC over the past 5 seasons. What @SAFC4ever desperately needs is a few pints in the pub with some oldies just to get some historical perspective.
Aye it's been a shìt 5 years as a fan and this last year has been exceptionally shìt for many and in more ways than one. There's been some ups and downs but the hope does keep you going. My first was hoping we didn't drop further or go altogether. Now we have hope with a new owner and a place in the play offs. I never thought there would come a time I'd be so eager to be in the championship but by fook I'm going to celebrate if we make it. If Johnson gets us up we should go and put some gnomes outside the ground
Scowen plays a different position though. Maguire is the nearest I suppose. No one saw blackpool as a threat in January either. As it is if they get to play offs and even final against us he'll have proven himself fir us and weakened a blackpool team against us so there's no downside to us as he was unlikely to break into our squad thus year.

Long way to go yet. Charlton have to win, a draw is no good for them, so they've got to throw the kitchen sink in the second half. Donny are dominating possession but not the shots at goal
