That story about Hartlepool and the hanged French monkey, is that true?

Somebody from Hartlepool moved to Aberdoom and opened up a pub and called it "The Noose And Monkey", A great ****ing pub it is too, unless it's closed down for good obviously!!

Napoleonic wars apparently. I see it as the perfect way to deal with what was meant as an insult; elect it to Mayor and adopt it as a nickname. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Hartlepool is a horrible place. It wouldn't like out of place in Scotland with all the drugs and poverty there.

The tale about hanging a monkey is just a myth. Cool story, though.

It's just the Central Belt of Scotchland that is a ****hole to be fair.

Come to Deeside, the Highlands and Islands and you'll find wonderful scenery.

If it's Buckfast, drugs and wife beating you're after stick to Glasgow and Edinburgh and any other pissed up ****holes like Motherwell, Hamilton. **** me, the list is ****ing endless.

Yeah, I spent quite a bit of time in Kilmarnock. It's an eye opener, I'm not used to it being perfectly normal for grandparents to take speed, cocaine and prescription meds on a regular basis. I'm going to be in Aberdeen, in June. I'll give you a shout and see if you're up for a cuppa/pint closer to the time.

Usually go for a decent claret, first growth of course. Occasionally I decide upon a Burgundy, usually Gevrey Chambertin.

A new word? I've been studying it for forty years and have a shelf full of books on the subject. It derives from the ancient process of casting stones to determine an election.

He loves sponging off the Tory government though.

I'm sure the warmonger Tony Thatcher could help him out with all his ill gotten gains.
