All managers waffle, FFS it's a game where 11 so called grown men kick a leather bag of wind around for 90 minutes, many come out of the tunnel with their hands up turned like those hands are still under a hand dryer, apparently praying to a higher authority and then spend most of the 90 minutes, cheating each other.

Once you have heard all the cliches/waffle/BS/defence of cheats, WTF is there left to say about the game? the problem is the lack of really good football journos asking intelligent questions, inviting the waffle, Pearson perfectly summed it up a couple of weeks ago, when the journo asked him on a Friday interview "I suppose it's a stupid question to ask you about your team selection for tomorrow?" an obviously irked Pearson looked away laughed but kept his composure and said "a stupid question but you still asked it".

They all waffle, even the managers used to winning titles waffle, it's part of the job description.

 

And will count for nowt when applying for a job. And count for even less with a huge majority of fans.

 

Because of my geographical location, I have bought a Mitsubishi Outlander Phev hybrid, virtually everywhere I need to go on a day to day basis is achievable within it's electric battery capacity. My fuel bill has gone down by 80%.

 

I'm looking at buying a Series 3 Landy

absolutely not it stinks!!! good job it only cost some a tenner to watch it … I stopped before Christmas... just 5 games .. we actually got some points ….

 

I am on my 3rd Phev hybrid and have a top of the range model now, I love it, it's great (the brightest red, you will ever see) it has a sport mode and when engaged is like **** off of a shovel.

I understand the appeal of a Landy, I looked at defenders but they are silly money.

The only problem I have is where I park my car on my driveway, there is telephone wires above and pigeons sit on them and attracted by the bright shiny paintwork they take huge ****s all over the bonnet. For about 1 month I covered the bonnet with a matt black cover and never had a problem, I am looking at having the bonnet wrapped.

 

Mine's done an average of 18 miles per gallon, I've had it since 1998....3.4L petrol.....but I still love it.....the tank of all tanks!!

 

Bought my Mrs a year old Peugeot 3008 GT 2L diesel..with all the kit.......must say, I really like that too....very plush and it flies.....much much more economical compared to mine!!

 

He will do the rounds, much the same as the rest with age on his side..won't have a problem getting work..

 

But remains (for the time being) the one manager able to keep our club in the 2nd tier of English football the longest in over 40 years......
You can throw that statement under a bus all you like.......but fact..

 

didn't stop him getting the job at Sunderland and doing well since things like broken promises, which are an everyday tale of football folk going to ...blah blah blah. split the fan base... realistically you have 100% fans probably 50% will not be fussed.. and maybe 25% will be for "the efforts and see litigation" 25% against for whatever reason personal or otherwise. A number of managers past and present have differing ways to express things [ its because like the worlds population some are made that way ] OFTEN these statements are heat of the moment and verge on seriousness or humour .. when you write something you can change it when you say something a retraction or more meaningful meaning may be difficult. FAILURE IS A CONCEPT … 1 is very very mild and 10 is total .. irreparable! ...…. The results that followed [almost same squad ] indicated it was not irreparable so a low degree of failure, maybe 1 or 2? .... failure came about almost 40 games later currently would say since [ bye bye DH ] has gone from a 4 or 5 to 8 -9 at present, it can in football management can never be a 10.

A CV of course will have none of this waffle on it...65 signed, Biggest ever manager support in City history, 5 place progress in 4.5 years , split fanbase, broken promises, waffle... IT had the right things for Sunderland to give him a contract though! Now added is a cup win play off places in first season.. and who knows? a promotion!!!!!

NP has a hard task ahead, a baseline that was set as a team in top 8 of the division.... a 3 month head start with no pressure... hopefully end to covid restrictions … wow the future looks rosy … looking forward to next season and possibly playing the likes of Fulham, Peterbro, Sunderland, Stoke and maybe Rotherham !!!!

That's the problem with all petrol/diesel 4x4s - they drink as much as I do!
I had a Nissan Patrol LWB 2.8l petrol and it probably did about the same as your Landy - if not worse.
I later had a Ford Maverick LWB (Nissan Terrano with a Ford badge - very strange commercial arrangement there....) - that was a 2.7l tdi and was better.
I do love my cars - mostly 4x4s and convertibles - I had a brand new Audi A5 convertible for my 50th birthday as a 'mid-life crisis' present and loved posing around in it. Sadly it had to go at the end of last year because I was buying my flat in Gibraltar and needed to lose the finance on it.
Now I have the wife's little Audi TT for 'fun' and 2 boring old Peugeot 206's for more practical tasks (one of those is my son's car)
I test-drove a 2011 Range Rover Vogue back in February and REALLY liked it, but managed to resist it - it's more important for me right now to spend my money on fixing my house up, rather than buying fuel for a thirsty metal monster - it was a victory for head vs heart!
I've also got an old Triumph Spitfire 1500 in the back of the garage which needs restoring - it's been off the road since 2001 - hopefully I'll get around to that soon. I was thinking of putting a 2L GT6 Sprint engine into it - if I ever do get around to it that is!!!

 

Maybe we should offer you up for car SOS and say your illness is Bristol City and it's incurable, how could they resist?
