Utd should be forced to forfeit the game over this.

Then dock Utd points. They can’t be allowed to get away with this, surely!

similar thing … surely … the game would need to played so LPOOL could win which is what they want! how many points deduction though …. its a precedent … remember the test match a few years back RESULT was not going for one of the teams so their fans broke in and messed up the wicket …. now you would think yes but they have 4 or 5 wickets in the strip!! ……… but none perform the same as the others! so game abandoned as no precedent to say what can/could be done it wasn't the grounds problem or the teams ……

With games being played behind closed doors security like stewards are a minimum. So to fine them for failing to control their fans is a bit harsh. They choose this game to get maximum exposure with TV coverage.

    Mixed feelings over this one.
As a football fan I feel empathy for the ‘genuine’ Man U fans who are protesting about the abuse of their club by the Glaziers. I would hate it if our club was owned by people like them.
On the other hand, attacking and ‘bottling’ a police officer is beyond outrageous and I hope that individual gets a long jail sentence.
The organisers and participants of that ‘protest’ must have known that their actions would get their club fined and points deducted but I guess they deemed it worth it to send a strong message to the Glaziers.

it is sad in this day and age there is always a group or gang that are hell bent on doing evil or criminal damage... we saw it in Bristol on the weekend a gang of a few "sad " that the protest had ended peacefully and most had gone home stirred up trouble. SAME in Manchester a small group went with intention of more than protest in mind and yes they deserve to be locked up but maybe that should be in solitary in a cell padded with Kevlar!

Apparently the club is valued at £3 to 4 billion so how realistic is it to expect that the Glazers will find a buyer at that figure? It will be a very short queue.

And would any potential buyer want to allow the fans to have a major say in the running of their investment?

I have no problem with peaceful protest but what happened on Sunday was akin to events at the White House, the Colston statue and subsequent trouble in Bristol. Pure mob violence by a deluded few.

Also, the protest was well advertised so I would have thought the club would gave beefed up security and police presence and not left an access door open. <doh>

All 6 clubs who wanted to join the European Super League should be docked 15 points for the start of next season. In addition Manchester United should be docked another 10 points on top for not policing their ground properly at the weekend.

There was a very small gang involved in the violence .. and quite a few 000's actually protesting peacefully most [ proverbial 99.99% ] of those that got into stadium did so peacefully and left peacefully, you cant account for the actions of IQ ZERO's …
the value is based on a figure which includes equity [merchandise ] sales, results and goodwill! …. hard to say what it is worth to buy!.... probably best way to get rid would be float on open market 100million shares or …… ? number

to be fair how do you police a ground with potentially 20,000 people wanting to protest …. i bet there will be an enquiry why access at the point of entry was "open or weak" stewards are ManuU fans as well!...….. and because peeps are in the stadium fire risk and emergency are part of the match day scenario so all entrances will need to be compliant with H&S on the day fans in or not!
points deduction .. 4 of the teams would still be CHAMPIONS LGE POSITIONS as it stands on points with todays table!

I am all against the greed displayed by the ' 6' and dispise clubs earning fortunes by being put into huge debt for selfish owners but that does not give the right for yobs to invade a football ground, climb, clamber all over goal post and nets, thieve corner flags, infest and break into private offices, slash and fight police and cause general mayhem around stadia and hotels, I hope they identify and throw the book at all who can be caught for breaking the law.

Mrs Gates might be having a few bob soon.
How do you police it? There are no fans in the grounds so the clubs have very little stewards and especially police in the grounds at the moment.

They knew that there was likely to be trouble as the march and protest was organised and publicised in advance.
It wouldn't have taken much imagination to know there might be issues and to either ask (and pay) for a large Police presence, or deploy some Stewards and make sure all the CCTV was turned on to identify any troublemakers.
