Not really. Unless Fernandes rebounds and takes back control, I can't see the owners going on a splurge again. We're still a long way short of being realistic promotion contenders and need upgrades in several areas who can develop and generate re-sale profits over a couple of years not expensive stop gaps. The aim next season has to be to become more clinical and get to the verge of the play offs. 7th would be fine by me if we can keep the core of the team together for another year.

It is important also to remember that:

1 The coffers are bare after a season without crowds. Unless we want to to copy the likes of Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday we have to keep tight hold of the purse strings.
2 This has been an extremely unusual season and there is no guarantee that we will do as well when crowds return. Home advantage was neutralised this season. Liverpool are a classic example of a team that lost its way, at Anfield in particular, through not having crowds to watch them.

Lumley is out of contract I believe, so we wont be selling him. Seen suggestions that he turned down a new offer from us, and will be off. Shame if true

I think aiming for 3/4 more wins next year than we finish with this year is a fair target - and would probably get us to around where you say.

i would keep Carroll. I would like to see the mega millions we get for Kane...wait, I assume he meant pounds sterling rather than Vietnam Dong invested wisely.I would keep the other loanees, (however some of this would depend on how Amos is progressing in his injury recovery). I would keep Charlie as I think his influence on the strikers is invaluable - Austin was a late starter and scored for fun in the non league so that could help spur the other on.

As so far as BOS in Turkey, he left us at the wrong time. However, we have done so much more than I thought and dare I say his leaving helped fund the salaries and loan fees paid.

Lumely isnt a bad keeper, but I think it would do him a lot of good to leave to go some
Cameron - I thought that one of the USA teams may have come in for him. I am a bit undecided as he may be one that does a lot more behind the scenes.

Only from what I've read. The situation for Charlie is quite a simple one and unfortunately it won't involve us. He is after one last contract and the best offer will no doubt gain his signature. He could well end up in MLS.

    Leave it up to Charlie...
    1. be part of our promotion season...part player only though, but an important part player. Get your badges and then off to USA
    2. Or not

Give us one cheap season Charlie. We will give you your badges and a wonderful season of a few really important goals,....and then we will go our separate ways.

You will be used as an impact sub...you will come on and give us 4/5/6/ important wins....you will become a superhero in W12

I did think he became a liability, not in tune with the rest of the squad...

But he did stabilise the team in his loan season.

Thank you Geoff... Enjoy your American football

I think Cameron has done an excellent job for us on the pitch, made us more solid in defensive midfield, and this season helped our defensive record improve considerably at the heart of our back 3. He could also play some lovely passes through to our attacking players. Been a good Captain, and a big help off the pitch providing his huge experience to the younger players and out and about with the Community Trust apparently.

Wish him all the best back in the US.

Hope we can sign De Wijs permanently. Thought he was our MoM at Stoke. He has showed he has a lot more in him than strength and heading ability, also very good feet, and looks to be well aware of the game situation around him, as expected in Dutch top footballers. He would be an excellent replacement for Cameron if he can stay fit.

I am hoping we are freeing up Geoff's wages to sign de Wisj and/or Johansen.

Johansen must be currently earning more than Cameron was though

My main worry about de Wisj is a little injury prone...but he came to us injured...let's hope we can get him fit over the summer.

Josh Bowler, you know the young winger we sold to Everton for a 6 figure amount a few seasons ago, has been released from his contract with Everton a year early, after a not very impressive loan season with Hull last year.

Still only 21 or 22...perhaps he is one of those lost souls that Chris Ramsey can turn around
