https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2021/ma...-league-world-fans-player-of-the-month-award/ He's been playing left wing I think
That may have more to do with Coventry's small squad, but he's certainly versatile and those ratings are very good for a team in the bottom half.
Going off McCallum/Coventry's transfermarkt pages, he's basically played as a LWB all season. I think those 11 DML and 14 ML appearances listed above are the same role, likely just variation in how the formation was recorded. Since Christmas, Coventry have played a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2, in either instance McCallum has been the left full back. Whether you call that a LB, LWB, LM is largely situational. Before Christmas Coventry used a 4-man defence occasionally, with McCallum at LB. Early on in the season he filled in on the right due to injury issues, but again formally a RWB. It'll be interesting to see how he does in pre-season with us, and whether he stays or goes out on loan again. Interesting to see Whoscored rate him highly for Aerial Duels and Defensive Contribution, and I've read that his long throw has been a weapon for Coventry this season too. His pass success of only 57% might be an issue in Farkeball, but equally that could be a result of the way Coventry are asking him to play (vs Giannoulis, he makes half the number of passes per game, but twice the number of long balls). It's a different skillset to Quintilla, certainly!
So we paid £3.7m for Mcallum and Xavi will cost less than that? We need to buy a right back we only have Max Mumbai
Nice little write-up on one of our 18 year-olds: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...pringett-pace-pressing-ability-finishing.html
The U18s play with two strikers to develop attacking skills but he sounds like he could play in the Buendia role, cutting in and shooting or passing with his left foot. That could be why he wears the number 7 jersey, something that seems to have escaped the attention of the Mail's 'Expert Scout'.
Springett has been playing as a forward, but he's listed on Transfermarkt as a RW, then LW, and #10. So you're probably right in your assessment, Rick. What stood out for me was mention of his pace and willingness to press hard, reminding me of Pukki.
I liked how he said that they wanted to get Todd exposure to first team football without him getting beaten up
Some footage from the Boston V Norwich u23s all the goals and a lot of substitions. I like what I’ve seen of Adshead so far this preseason.
They looked to have been a bit outmuscled In the first 30 minutes but great desire to come back . Hope Klose and Trybull get a move They were both great servants to the club but as we evolve there's no room for sentiment. Nizet and Adshead stand out performances , those two Dickson Peters and Tompkinson will be pushing for the first team .
Not seen it on here but Saxon Earley, Jayden St Paul and Josh Giurgi have also signed pro deals this week. In addition to Kamara and Khumbeni.
