My wife won't t drive either though she can speak French fluently.
Me, I don't even try. I used to try but the French are very condescending and roll their eyes and start showing to you in English.
    I love the Dordogne region.

<laugh> Ha ha love it. My oldest daughter has a French au pair from the Lyon region. The lass could hardly string a sentence together in English when she came here but ten months later she has the most wonderful accent when speaking English. We are going to have a party for her when she leaves later in the summer.

Don't worry. They want the numbers down to 5000 a day or lower for tourism season.

And with some creative counting they will do it...
I know this government better than you.<cheers>

I got back last sept before Boris locked out the Turkish flights due to their numbers being. Well dodgy. My Turkish mates are saying only 10% of vaccinations done with that dodgy Chinese vaccine too (51% efficacy). They need to sort that **** out. Surely the Turks could knock off the Pfizer one themselves. They are good at knock offs these days.

Anyone able to recommend somewhere in Scotland, somewhere canny for taking dogs and that. Bit walking, maybe a decent pub and stuff

Had Glencoe booked last year, might just rebook there. Or go to the lake District instead

We stayed at Loch Lomond a few years ago, stunning scenery (but no pub nearby).

Ayrshire too is nice. We stayed in a lodge on a caravan park, which was good for a base as we did a lot of driving around. Nice area.

I'm currently sitting in the awning of my caravan in Northumberland, sipping a few drinks. It's our weekend getaway, love it.

Crianlarich is a great place to base yourself if you like somewhere quiet with walking. Nowt there but a couple of pubs and a train station but good base for hill walking and drives to Loch Lomond, Glencoe, and east to Tayside

Lucky bastard Dorts, that's my idea of a proper break. We're coming up to Warkworth at the end of this month with my daughter and family from London. She's the one with money and is looking to buy a second home up there...<laugh>

She was born in Newcastle and has always remembered the holidays up at Beadnell and Bamburgh, hence the desire to buy something as a retreat.

We used to go to a hotel that, in my memory, was basically on Loch Lomond for years when i was a kid. Loved it tbh.
