What we do know the the arbitration prelim stuff is the PL fought to stop full disclosure. Why? And now with this new case they can’t do that and everything will be laid bare. If they are consistent then they will want to settle this before it gets to court.. and the costs will be racking up too by then.

No. He is playing chess with the PL. Arbitration is the PL's own resolution. Heard in private. The lawsuit will be public and everyone will hear the evidence. The PL do not want their knowledge of the ESL, their collusion with the big 6 and the pressure from BEin to become public.
