Just seen that our 97 points this season is the 10th highest total achieved in a Championship season.

8/9 teams with more points went on to finish 14th or higher in their first season in the Prem.

EFLStats on twitter are posting some season summaries. This one really stood out to me. Miles clear.

Just watched a video, 38 minutes long, called " The way back " on the pink un. Excellent review of the season that for some reason failed to ask Danny Mills for his views.

Dave Freezer's 6 points column makes a good read, especially this about Emi:

"One last goal brought Emi Buendia’s outstanding personal haul to 15 goals and 16 assists for the season, from 39 league appearances. His intelligent cross to find Todd Cantwell was also a key part of Idah making it 2-2. Compare that to the inspired season from James Maddison for City in 2017-18, contributing 14 goals and eight assists from 44 league games, for a mid-table team."

Remember when we were all wondering where the goals would come from after Maddison left? Enter Teemu and Emi. SW will have to pull off another such coup if Emi leaves.

The team stats further down the article also make good reading:

An open letter from Mario to the fans as unable to say goodbyes due to Covid restrictions. <applause> <ok>

Norwich was my first club abroad.
I didn't know what to expect and I was very nervous, but I wanted to get to know a new culture and new people. The people are very nice, kind and polite. The city is amazing and I love it here.

I'm very proud of the things I've achieved and it's the perfect timing. It's much nicer to leave such a special place at its best. I had a great four years and it's best to leave on the top level.

The appreciation from the supporters means a lot to me. I couldn't say goodbye or farewell to you in person, but I just want to say thank-you.
There was a warm welcome from day one and I hopefully paid it back with a few goals! We had a good time. It's not a farewell, probably a see you later.

My favourite memory is the game at Elland Road. It was an important game and we smashed Leeds. The whole game was amazing. Sheffield Wednesday is up there too but I only played about 15 minutes!
It's like a family club here. Everyone does everything to achieve the best. The club has an idea that it sticks to and it works out. I think supporters love it too.

This club means home to me. There are amazing people, not just inside the club, who have given me a lot. I will never forget Norwich and have only good things to say.

    Mario.

Such a bummer that he's a million miles off PL standard!

    Centre-back: Grant Hanley (Norwich) - 7.19 rating
A key reason for Norwich's title success was their quality in possession having ranked first for both possession (58.3 per cent) and pass success rate (82.8 per cent) with head coach Daniel Farke demanding his defenders play out from the back. Hanley was a key performer in that regard having made more accurate passes (2570) than any other player and yielding the best pass success rate (89.1 per cent) in the division. That said, Hanley was on hand to alleviate pressure on the Norwich goal by any means necessary where required, ranking third for clearances (211).

Ironic reference to Robbie's comments about Hanley not being good enough. ;)

My comment was that Hanley is a good Championship-level CB but not Premier League quality. This season has simply confirmed the first bit of that while leaving the second an open question. The supposed improvement in defence this season is IMO largely illusory, as will swiftly become all too evident next season.

PS. I've had to re-register under a new user name, having somehow trashed my robbieBB log in details. Can one of our admins please give me my old name back on this new account?

Yes, I should have said 'not good enough for the PL' Robbie. Certainly Hanley has moved up a level this season and now looks comfortable playing out from the back and I, for one, think that his good partnership with Gibson will carry on in the PL. We need another quality CB as well and if the claim that we've already secured a deal for Kristoffer Ajer proves to be true, that will do nicely with Zimmerman, Famewo and Omobamidele providing further depth to avoid the injury disasters of last season.

It's very easy to write us off next season being the second poorest club in the top 2 divisions above fan owned Luton .

The doom merchants will all be writing us off as unambitious for not pissing away £100m on so called Premier league quality, but I don't care we do things on our terms with a philosophy of keeping solvent, bringing through youth and trying to entertain on the pitch .

It's easy to say I told you so if we go down but I don't fear relegation and enjoy winning the Championship every other season .

I'm just hoping to see a few games without getting injected or wearing a mask or sadly I will never be attending Carrow Road again .

I have no doubt SW and DF will be sensible about what we can afford. Long term development is the key and they'll 'avoid the noise' and we should do the same. We've progressed since we were in the PL and there's more to come I'm sure.

Scotland midfielder Kenny McLean has been left "absolutely devastated" by a knee ligament injury that rules him out of this summer's Euro 2020 finals.
The 29-year-old will miss the next 12 weeks after he was injured in Norwich City's 2-2 final-day Championship draw with Barnsley on Saturday.
McLean has "significant damage" to the right-side medial collateral ligament.
"Lots of hard work to come and I'll be supporting the lads from afar," he said on Twitter.

    Unlucky for Kenny <wah>

After a season like that it takes great dedication and effort to be able to moan and criticise .

    You are an inspiration
