You know what, being away from here and not much changes in between. @LincolnSaint may have a view that differs from 95% of people on here, but he is entitled to his view as much as any of you. And reading through the comments on this thread, the way a number of you have spoken about him you should hang your heads. People like @SaintinNZ saying the forum is better without him, he offers nothing and stuff is manipulative and should have been stopped. This is the 2nd time he has done this without being dealt with by the mods. Just because he doesn’t like someone’s POV. It is hardly like he or any of us dont get negative from time to time. Well apart from @thereisonlyoneno7 At least we are playing well again, really enjoyed the game. Enjoy the rest of the season.
The radio commentary made it seem like a better Saints performance but this is a game we would have picked up points from back in the autumn. I don't know what Bertrand was missing and if he was injured but it does demonstrate how weak we are without Ings and Romeu. I have a funny feeling about the rest of this month and I am not sure where we will pick up points from. I think it might be against either Leeds or Palace albeit the latter have been a jinx club for us in recent years. We should really thrash Fulham yet I cannot see where the goals will come from. Che is too erratic and nowhere as near as prolific as he should be. He keeps spurning good chances too often. The lack of proposed transfer activity in the summer that is being reporting does intrigue me.That said, I think that more players will leave that is currently envisaged. I can see Djenepo, Obafemi, Valery,, Jankowitz, N'lundulu being moved on and Walcott not being retained. With Minamino looking to return to Liverpool and any option on Walcott not being taken, the squad will look a lot different next season. I also think that we will lose likes JWP, Vestergaard and Ings. The last two will definitely not be here. I have stated before that I am a fan of Ralph. Despite this, I think any margin by which we will survive relegation will be much narrower than many on this board are predicting. I have a horrible suspicion that the issues with players like Ings, Vestergaard and Bertrand are masking problems within the club concerning the player's confidence in Ralph. It will be a shock if this happens, but I think that Ralph might be shown the door by the end of the season. Given how Puel was treated, I would be worried that the same fate will be meted out to Ralph. No matter how you put it, the second half of the season has been a total train wreck (for reasons due to injuries, Covid, fatigue, depth of squad, etc) which is even more disappointing given how well the season started and last season ended. I think the club will be ruthless and can see Ralph being given the chop. With the home games coming up that should be home-bankers and potentially in front of cheering fans too in some cases, I would be concerned that Ralph's days may be numbered. It is probably unlikely yet it would not surprise me at all if this happened.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion , but to give any poster stick when they are not even here is wrong.
We are a pretty small group on here and should welcome all. I don't agree with a lot and I'm sure it's mutual the other way round. However, if you like their POV or not, we'd all probably have a great laugh over a beer, given the chance. People do get a bit gobby with a keyboard.
I agree that the stick Lincoln gets is overboard tbh. I've had disagreements with him like but every match thread seems to be full of people digging him out at the minute. More boring than me going on about VAR
I don't mind if people disagree. This issue is how people do it. I have found that Lincoln Saint has made some salient posts in the past and was one of the sensible people posting here. I understand that he does rate Hassenhutl but, in hs defence, I think that Ralph is something of an enigma. When his teams are at their best, they have played some of the best football we have seen since Koeman. On the flip side, we have been pretty dreadful under his watch too. As i have said previously, i do not really believe that Saints fans have seen the full potential of Ralph. For me, he is still some way off where I believe he could eventually take the club. Very unfair to judge any manager on this current season, in my opinion, That said, I am not convinced the club will stick with him for 21/22. Had be been employed since Christmas and been a new appointment 5 months ago, I think all fans would have been calling for his head. However, the better performances are demonstrative, in my opinion, as to why we need to stick with him.
Just been pointed out that our next fixture is Tuesday. We need a volunteer for the next match thread please.
Agree with pretty much all of this except I'm certain he'll be here come August. Particularly in agreement of us being a bit of an enigma under him. We tend to be either brilliant or awful with not a lot in between. I can't remember who said it, but someone on here said that they felt that Ralph's style requires every player to playing well to work and can't carry any passengers. Think there's a lot of truth in that, even two players at 6/10 means we're dreadful.
In fairness my comment was about 20 mins after he had been on here constantly. And he only posted after we went one down. So it wasn’t as random as you make it out.
Negativity or not - this forum is still in a better place than the meltdowns being had on Twitter & FB
Just read some of the comments on FB. Honestly, I wonder if some of these morons actually understand football or the real world .....
Did anyone hear back from @fatletiss? Just hoping all is well with him as I’m hoping to meet up for a beer and a chat about Saints sometime.
