I was wondering the other day where he's been. Changed my phone recently and lost his number. Hopefully he's okay.
Thanks LTL - I had figured they must be related to the group who used to sit behind me at St Mary’s, abuse the players before we kicked off (“oh no - not HIM again. I don’t know why we bother playing him”) and spent the whole of the game shouting “kick it forward” ......
I have always felt that if we were ever to meet we would most probably get along . The written word can be so impersonal .
I actually agree with Billy on the main point regarding Lincoln. If you remember I had to remind people following the Leicester game that he had said how pleased he was with our performance and the point gained. That did stop most of the name-calling, and it’s a shame it’s started again. I disagree however that moderator action was necessary on this thread. No one has broken any rules as far as I can see. Just remember we are all Saints fans here, and even if we do disagree with someone’s point of view there is no excuse for personal attacks.
A league above us in terms of cost and resources too. Compare the last five years source https://www.transferleague.co.uk/pr...tables/premier-league-table-last-five-seasons 7th Liverpoorp- gross £470.9 M, sold £378.5 M, net £92.4 M, per season £18.5 M 19th Saints - gross £240.4 M, sold £243.2 M, net -£02.8 M, per season -£00.6 M
Let's also remember we're posting on a forum, face to face over a pint or three the words take on an entirely different tone and end up with a laugh all round. Have a good Sunday all, it's Mother's day here in the Netherlands, Mrs Jab's second the first being the UK and third Indonesian in December. So it was breakfast in bed, a cold savoury plate for lunch and her choice, probably Thai, for dinner.
A happy Mother’s Day to all mothers outside of the U.K. - oh what the hell, let’s include them too - after all, where would we be without our Mums?
Yep had a few messages with him yesterday - He is ok, just taking a little time out from here. To be fair he sounds a lot more positive for it
I am not convinced that Saints will cut Ralph sometime soon. We are not likely to have quality managers queuing outside St Marys if he were let go. On the subject of picking up points before the seasons end, for me, it's very problematic we will get more than 2 to 4 points mainly made up from a couple home draws or one win and a draw at best. Next season - l think we will really struggle to stay up if the likes of Vesty and Ings are gone (probable) and possibly someone coming in for JWP. The 'cabinet is bare', so to speak, and am not sure we have a robust style of play, attractive as it is, that can sustain us in the EPL.
Thanks! I was getting a bit worried - probably positive because he’s not been following the results either
So, any volunteers for the Palace thread? I know LincolnSaint was up for it, and I hope he hasn’t been put off by any of the adverse comments following the game.
I am sure you would all find my endearingly quirky ways amusing and heart warming should we ever meet.
Been long enough now that I will dare voice my critical opinion. I thought Liverpool were woeful yesterday and we somehow managed to never look like getting out of it. The worst criticism I can make is that we played pretty well. We played pretty well against a team that looked totally out of all form and still never really looked like getting anything. That kind of sums up Saints for me at the moment. We are like a toothless granny, desperately trying to gum an apple without cutting it up first. Lots of bluster, a bit of dribble, but mostly just this mashed up looking apple laughing at is from our withered hands.
I will link you to my collected poetry anthology on Amazon: Sublimation of the Bizarre, a treatise on perverse metaphors.
