Assuming it was voted for a few weeks ago. Four players in, Burge, O'Nien, McGeady and Wyke. That Clarke-Harris fella player of the season. Ha way lads, show us why you were in there in the first place.
Not sure about Burge. From what we've witnessed recently, I'm surprised the Charlton or Blackpool keeper wasn't in ahead of him. Unless they upped their game against us. Our other 3, definitely deserve to be in there. Good to see Beevers from Posh and Grant from Lincoln in there. Both have been outstanding, and would be ones I would be happy for us to recruit.
Burge has made some great saves, mixed with some blunders. But to be fair to the lad,he's improved no end since LJ arrived and has been operating behind a makeshift back line for the most part.
That makeshift back line has been his salvation not LJ. He's had little to do imo, and just as well for our sakes as well as his.
Looks like a lot of people disagree with your assessment , compared with Camp and Steele he could be Lev Yashin . Despite our fall off in form he will still be high in the keeping of clean sheets this season.
When goalkeepers aren’t kept busy it’s all about concentration as they can be called in to action at anytime and being a goalkeeper any lapse can lead to conceding goals . Errors are magnified and people remember mistakes - not the good saves made . Outfield players make mistakes or miss chances and they are quickly forgotten . I mentioned on a thread not long ago about Brian Clough defending his signing of Peter Shilton for a lot of money stating he would justify the fee because he would earn Forest 12 to 15 points a season - the rest is history . Burge isn’t a brilliant keeper but is one of the better if not the best in EFL1 which is why he is in the League team .
Non of our players made it... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12301865/league-one-team-of-the-season-2020-21
So Oxford have 2 defenders in there despite their defence conceding 14 more goals than us and 19 more than Blackpool. How does that work?
