Did it nicely, I think there might be a quiet "boom!" somewhere .....

 

Any News travelled superbly through the race and looked to be tanking when getting sandwiched between horses up the straight. I don't think he was going to get near the front few either way as he didn't have the pace to go with them when they did quicken, he should make a nice horse upped in trip i suspect. Typically, paying 5 places, I ended up in sixth.

Can't believe we were only 1 point from safety after being so far behind. Had we started the season with the team we have now, we would have fished mid table. Hope we can keep the squad and have another go. Well done Bolton

 

Derby could be in trouble. The English Football League won its appeal to find the club in breach of Financial Fair Play rules. n what could be viewed as a precedent, Macclesfield were relegated from League Two last summer after an independent arbitration decision resulted in an immediate six-point deduction.

It can't happen can it?

 

If there's a points deduction it'll be from next season i would imagine, same as what happened to Sheff Weds

 

Sheff W weren't deducted last year because it wouldn't have actually been a punishment smokey. That's why it was carried over to the following season. Whereas Macclesfield were deducted immediately and saw them relegated. Derby may get away with a fine but if they get deducted 2 or more points immediately, they will be relegated, just like Macclesfield.

I wouldn't want to be in Rooney's shoes right now

 

Sheffield Wednesday would have been relegated and Charlton would have stayed up had we been given an immediate points deduction. Charlton even appealed the decision to delay the deduction to the following season but obviously failed in their challenge.

Also a very different situation with what happened with Macclesfield. They went bust and were given a winding up order similar to Bury. Derby have fiddled the books, similar to Sheff Weds. Nothing wrong with clutching at straws but i'd be amazed if they relegated Derby this season

 

I'm not clutching at straws. Simply reporting what I have read. A 6 point deduction wouldn't have seen Sheff relegated. But you are right as the initial penalty was 12 points which would have seen them relegated. As far as we are concerned we are relegated, and very pleased with our achievement after such a poor start (16th based on last 25 games and 11th based on last 20 games; 7th on last 10. Certainly didn't expect it to go to the wire

 

Derby are an absolute disgrace. The levels of skulduggery that they have stooped too are incomparable to anything else the Championship has seen. From the fiddle of a ground sale to employing Rooney as a player/coach to dodge wage rules.
At best you could call the club rule benders, in my book they are cheats and I have been saying so all season.

 

Relegate them I say

 

Derby County have had charges relating to a breach of English Football League spending rules dismissed.

The charges related to the valuation of Pride Park when it was sold to owner Mel Morris for £80m, despite it previously being listed as worth £41m.

The sale led to a pre-tax profit of £14.6m in 2017-18, keeping Derby within a three-year cap of £39m in losses.

A charge over how the club measured the value of players - called amortisation - in their accounts was also dismissed.

The findings mean Derby will avoid a points deduction and fine, which would have come into play for 2020-21 Championship season.

Sheffield Wednesday received a 12-point deduction on 31 July for breaking spending rules.

However, an independent disciplinary tribunal did find that "the wording of the amortisation policy in Derby's financial statements could have been clearer".

Most clubs spread the transfer fee they have paid for a player over the life of his contract, with them being worth £0 at the end of their deal. For example, a player bought for £10m over a five-year contract would cost £2m a year but have no value at the end of that contract.

Derby assigned a residual value - how much they expected to receive in a transfer fee - to a player at the end of the contract, thus lowering their amortisation costs.

In a short statement, the Rams said their were "delighted with the outcome" and will fully focus on next season, which begins with a Carabao Cup tie against Barrow on 5 September.

The EFL said it would "consider the judgment in full before commenting further". Both parties have 14 days in which to appeal.

The sale of Pride Park to Morris proved controversial, with some clubs arguing that it gave Derby an unfair advantage as it allowed them to incur losses greater than £39m over three years.

PLEASE TELL ME HOW THIS IS NOT CHEATING RON.
They deserve a deduction and it should happen this season.
